clo_again: (Roger - Vintage)
Watching Gonzo vs Blake and the commentators are complaining about how badly the tennis side of the Olympics has been organised. Schedules not available until after midnight, players with no idea what's going on, no programmes...

Somehow, in four years when it's Wimbledon running the show? I don't think there'll be any problems.

Though, wow. Four years. How many of our guys will still be playing then? :( Though it's funny to think, the Olympics marks the fourth wait that was some terrible maths fifth year of me watching tennis, yet the landscape is essentially the same. We've lost a few people along the way, Roger's in a slump and Andy is, well, Andy is still almost-losing to the weirdest people (Schwank Andy? Seriously? What, were you too busy laughing at his name to play?). I guess Djokovic has appeared from off the radar. And Andy Murray is actually looking like a top five player and not just the British press' whipping boy for the next ten years. So, stuff has changed. A bit. And I know that they don't speak Swiss in Switzerland now, which is a step up.

Mmmm. Where will tennis be in four years. Interesting.

~

On another note entirely, my dad just got back from South Africa and he's bought me Witchdoctor Bones. With actual bones. They're the coolest thing ever. *glees*

So I came home from work to to find WIMBLEDON TICKETS. Suddenly this is a Happy Wednesday!

Also don't quote me on this because I have constant paranoia when it comes to being optimistic about seats but- I think we're just to one side of the net in the front row. Entrance D, Row A.This is where D is in the Wimbledon seating plan. And A is the first row. Usually. Right? I won't believe it until we're sitting there. But at the very least we have good seats, even if they aren't front-row-awesome. Which they might be. The only downside is that the Umpire might be in the way and they'll have their backs to us when sitting down but equally they'll be *that close* and many many excellent photo ops in the course of walking to-away from the chairs. And maybe, I don't know. We could sneak out during games and turn the chairs to face us instead of the court and hope they don't notice. They're focusing on their tennis; it's entirely plausible. Ahem.

Please please please, whatever deity out there that I haven't offended yet, make it not rain on June 25th. Please. And please make Roger be on Centre Court. On that day. I'm aware I'm putting conditions in this now but I'll do anything! Okay, nearly anything. Some things. Like, I won't sacrifice a goat but I could be persuaded to sacrifice say, a wasp. Violently, with a newspaper next time one flies into my room. Then everybody wins.

Wimbledon! Wimbledon Wimbledon! *flails* The only downside about the whole trip is that I bought my train tickets yesterday, finally, and for some reason every train down Saturday had three changes and most of them took almost five hours. Which is just stupid when Sunday's trains had one change and took three hours, so I'm going Sunday but that's a day less of having crazy London fun. *sadness* Stupid British rail network. I'm not leaving until almost 4pm Thursday though, so there's four days and Sunday night. Which I'm hoping will have Top Gear. Yay!

Less than a month to go. Dammit. GO QUICKLY.

edit: Of course all this depends on me remembering to pack the tickets to take with me. I command you all - not just [livejournal.com profile] kindoftrouble, all of you! if you have any love for my sanity or your own, since I will complain on LJ and IJ at great length for months if I get to Wimbledon and my Centre Court tickets are back in Wales - for the love of smeg, remind me to pack the freaking tickets. June 21st please. Comment, poke me, text me, send me pigeon post, just remind me. Please. I've been known to come back to Wales from university with my wallet and all my cards still in Lancaster. I will almost certainly need reminding and even if I don't, it'll be nice to know I have back-up memories working for me. ^_^

I HAVE WIMBLEDON TICKETS.

FOR THE FIRST WEDNESDAY.

FOR CENTRE COURT.

WHICH MEANS I GET TO SEE ROGER. I THINK. I HOPE. PROBABLY.

I JUST SCREAMED AND I THINK MY NEIGHBOURS MUST THINK I'M BEING AXE-MURDERED.

I'M TALKING ALL IN CAPS BECAUSE THIS IS A ALL-CAPS MOMENT.

oh my god. *Centre Court* at Wimbledon. *Finally*.
clo_again: (Andy/Roger - Your Regard)
Oh thank fuck for that.

edit: Just occurred to me that maybe this post wasn't an accurate sign of my mind-numbing stress over the last couple of hours. Believe me when I say I was stressed. There's a disgruntled cat who got clung to and hidden behind who'll attest to that.

Oh Roger. You're such a dork. I do love you.

*amused*

For no apparent reason (other than boredom and avoiding-the-washing-up), I just went and pointlessly requested Top Gear tickets. I won't get them (hence the pointlessly) but it did make me realise that Wimbledon is not the hardest thing in the world to get tickets for. I seriously doubt sitting outside the Top Gear hanger overnight would get you an instant ticket to the filming. And Wimbledon, while the ballot system may be evil and hate me with a fiery passion, it doesn't have a potentially infinite waiting list.

Why can't I like football? Or concerts? Or you know, anything you can actually get tickets for without selling multiple limbs or waiting until you're too old to enjoy them.

Teehee, evil!SG-1. I love that they were wearing black. Never one to go for the misdirection eh Stargate? So cute.

Brother called too; after the usual "Why are you calling me?" "I need a reason to call my little sister?" "Well you never do without one, so yeah" exchange and after I'd bragged up my getting Stargate series nine and atlantis series 2 on DVD for free - he called me a bitch. Asshole - he was asking when our term finishes and when could I go down for a week to cat-sit and generally take over their house. I said pretty much any time in early July before July 18th when we graduate but I just thought of Wimbledon and when it finishes and went o.O, because I don't want to be on a train to Cardiff when there're Wimbledon matches on.

That said, my brother has the biggest TV ever. Literally, it's like sixty inches or something (okay, that's a wild guess but it's *big*). Which means there's a good chance I'll get to watch the Wimbledon final on it, omgsquee. Watched a bit of Wimbledon on there last year and it looks fantastic. Though, their neighbours are kind of close so no yelling too loud.

Still, giant TV + Wimbledon + empty house = awesome. Besides, he said that going to cat-sit gets me brownie points and if I want to go down in the summer and stay there while I get a job, I'm more than welcome. Which is excellent, because it gives me an out from my parents. Also, *Cardiff*. Much love.

Now if I can just pass this year with a vaguely respectable degree... which means I should probably go do some reading now. Bribe myself with the promise of Cardiff and Wimbledon and Farscape-

- and yeah, I just had the lions and tigers and bears, oh my chant going to that. Grow up? What?
clo_again: (Andy - Grace)
OH! Now it's cooled down enough for me to regain some semblence of brain function, I have to mention [livejournal.com profile] kindoftrouble's AWESOMENESS in sending me a Wimbledon 2005 poster. I got it today which was insanely quick and YAYNESS for the gorgeousness of it. :D It is so Andy. (Though weirdly, the guy across the net looks like Santoro to me. *blinks*)

*gives you cookies of awesomeness* Thank you so much. Majorly with the owingness for it.

In vaguely related-not-really-sort-of news, [livejournal.com profile] lossi I finally got the London pictures back today and they aren't so great. :-/ There's one of you and Holly in Southfields that's good but the London Eye ones are pretty fuzzy and only one of the museum ones came out. -_- We'll probably be better off stealing Holly's. I need a digital camera DAMMIT.

Re. text message, I do need to write tonight. Especially now it's cooled down enough for my brain to actually work again.
clo_again: (Wimbledon)
YEARS. OFF. MY. LIFE. YOU BASTARD.

In case you're watching the final delayed... )
clo_again: (Roger - FlyAway)
Have to stop destressing with fandom_wank and go watch the Wimbledon final now.

:-/

edit: Oh god. I don't think my nerves can stand this. Note to self: STOP. TWITCHING.
clo_again: (Roger - Pride)
Ho-hum, sitting on the sofa watching tennis. Yayness, especially since Roger won, unsurprisingly but hey, it's still nice. Plus BBC's nifty super-slow camera shots are giving me some shiny things to use in vids if I ever get round to it this summer. Also, Mac and Jimmy were hilarious during the rain delay. *harts on them* Roger and Rafa need to have a big public fight to create some tension between them. None of this "respect him very much, no?" and "we aren't there yet" about the final, stuff. Maybe they should start doing promos like in wrestling. Heh. Or you know, not. ;-) I can just imagine fans spontaeneously combusting.

Roger watches wrestling though, or did. I'm sure he can manage a passable Rock impression. Though the eyebrow, that might take some practise. Oh, I miss Rock and his eyebrow and the sheer amount of *attitude*. Curses on not having any old wrestling on DVD! I wonder if I could hook the video player to the DVD recorder this summer because I have a ton of old Hardys matches and definitely some PPVs. Hm. Now there's an idea for a rainy day.

Ah, nostalgia. Makes you do the craziest things.

edit: I don't know if I can watch Nadal vs Baghdatis. Every interview I've seen with Baghdatis's just made me want to snuggle him more and watching him lose his serve in the opening game, when it's the one thing he said he didn't want to do? Sadness. :(

edit: In other news, yes I am aching from playing tennis yesterday. Shutup. ;)
clo_again: (Roger/Pineapple - OTP)
Okay so Grey's Anatomy? SHOULD NOT SCREW WITH ME LIKE THIS. I swear to the deity of your choice, I did not need to get involved in another crappyshutupIloveit medical series. At least it's over for the forseeable future but ack, what a sucky place to leave it.

I'd just destressed enough too. >_< Alas.

And in Wimbledon news, if Roger plays Rafa in the final on Sunday? I'll kill myself.*

*No, not really. You may all wish I had however when I bitch at great length and spend all of Sunday freaking loudly quietly loudly over Roger. I love the poncey little git to pieces and if he has a mental breakdown because Rafa beat him at Wimbledon? I will bitch. Forever. Eternally. At great, exhaustive length. At everyone, the world and at their pet rabbit Binky.

No one messes with Roger. He may be a poncey little git but he's my poncey litte git and if it takes me personally beating up Rafael Nadal? I WILL DO IT. Hell, he's eight months younger than me. I could take him in a rugby tackle.

Stop sniggering for I am deadly with the serious. ...Mostly.
clo_again: (Wimbledon)
Because I finally got off my ass to do something today. :)

Ferrer, Hewitt, Nadal and general Wimbledon )
clo_again: (Wimbledon)
I'm home and tired amd really, Virgin trains, would it kill you to have air con that damn well works? Please? Don't even *ask* how unpleasant it would be to sit next to me right now but hey, a shower is in my near future and all is well. Actually I still haven't stopped grinning about having breakfast in *Harrods*, all is *fantastic*. ;-)

Wimbledon. Awesomeness. If you want my voice post from Court One it's here to stop it screwing with my flist and yeah, I should sort that sometime. Not tonight. Definitely not tonight.

Rafa serves prettily. *harts* Pretty pictures tomorrow.

I would not be here right now without [livejournal.com profile] kindoftrouble's genius, so all go and give her your souls. Or cookies, equal goodness. Give her shiny, shiny things anyway because she is Teh Awesome of Awesomes.

Shower. I've been dreaming of it for about five hours now.
clo_again: (Wimbledon)
Tiredtiredtired. I think I might sleep all day Wednesday because mmmm, sleeping and not getting up early and just not having to think about doing *anything*, bliss. This? Has been the insanest of months. Last month. Few weeks.

Yeah, whatever. I shouldn't have to make sense when I've had to get up early.

Need to call hotel to let them know we'll be late. Need to pack... stuff. Need to poke [livejournal.com profile] wolves8 for her postcode so we can find her house. Need to do a lot of things and none of them involve going back to sleep on my very tempting bed. So. Damn. Tempting.

I feel like I'm kind of missing things in the tennis slash fandom right now with not being here and aside from not knowing whether that's a good thing or not, I do feel a little guilty that I'm not here to stick my nose into everything. ;) Try not to go 'splodey for me to come back too? Though, I've cast my vote, so to speak, so there's not a lot else I could do if I was here. *shrugs*

So, in a few hours I shall be off to eventually end up at Wimbledon tomorrow. Slightly more organised than last year I think, though we haven't done it yet. I'll let you know how it goes. Hell, I might actually *use* my quota of phone posts for July at this rate. (My Cardiff ones have been backdated to May 30th and June 1st to stop them screwing with my journal layout, because backdating is easier than me working out how to fix it.)

If you happen to be watching Wimbledon tomorrow, look out for us on court one. :) We'll wave. Wimbledon yay!
clo_again: (Wimbledon)
Oh, a weekend of unpacking just caught up with me. >_< Crikey, moving house is hard work, even when it's not your house. Gonna have to have a shower and cold drink before I think of going near MSN so [livejournal.com profile] lossi, [livejournal.com profile] kindoftrouble, I'll be a little while longer if I make it before I fall asleep.

Have Keyboard of Awesomeness. This however, does not console me for Andy. I do love Murray but Andy needed this so much more right now. Straight-*fucking-sets. I never even saw it coming. Part of me is and always will be convinced it's karma coming back to bite me for cheering when we heard England lose over the radio, because literally a minute later they went to Wimbledon to announce Murray had won the first set. I sincerely and utterly apologise for my World Cup attitude. I should've known better than to tempt karma because she never, ever lets me get away with it. Dammit. Now I have no idea who I'll see on Monday but they've got what, Murray and Roger playing and if [livejournal.com profile] kindoftrouble gets both of them on Centre Court then I may be murdering her and stealing her ticket. I'm sure she'll understand. ;-)

So, yeah. A little depressed, a lot tired but I'm heading southwards to [livejournal.com profile] wolves8's tomorrow and then Wimbledon Monday and we're having dinner with [livejournal.com profile] kindoftrouble in the evening, so. Life is not bad for me right now. I wish I could say the same for Andy Roddick. :(
clo_again: (Roger/Pineapple - OTP)
It's not even noon yet and I've already cleaned some windows. Dude, too energetic this early. Thankfully all I've got to do now is wait for assorted family to come back from picking the moving van up and I can go shopping. Shopping! Mwaha! Vaguely depressing about said shopping is that I'm mostly going to be buying presents for other people but then, I am going to be getting myself a nice shiny keyboard, if my brother has time to come get it with me. (Staff discount people, this is why you should always have siblings who work in techie stores. *glee*) I've also discovered that my brother has the old Snow Patrol albums on his computer. Something else for me to be 'borrowing' I think.

Got slept on by the cat last night. Waking up at four am to find her sprawled across me, using my shoulder as a pillow? So. Cute. Made rolling over or actually moving at all a *little* tricky though. ^_^

My life is dull right now; it's just Cardiff squee. And next week there shall be London and Wimbledon squee. Weather's meant to be getting hot over the weekend; cross your fingers for us that it'll stay nice for Monday. And that Andy will get there, argh.

I wish they'd hurry up and get back already. I'm craving Starbucks.
clo_again: (Andy - Brilliance)
Okay, my brother's computer monitor? Widescreen. Big. Bigger than bloody *Jupiter*. Livejournal in epic style is plain weird. (I just had to go through all my icons to see how much better they look in epic-style hugeness.) I also love his beautiful black and silver keyboard which is *so* easy to type with and I'm thinking of asking how much it'd be to get myself one because hey, I need some incentive to write regulary now and writing on this? Bliss beyond *words*. My heart breaks that it's mostly wasted on him since he hasn't written a creative word in his life.

Oh this screen, keyboard, the damn *mouse* is awesome, be still my soul. I love you. I may even want to marry you. We can live a celibate relationship of me telling me how much I worship your awesome black and chrome beauty and you responding with polite beeps telling me my love does not compute.

Will stop waxing lyrical over the computer now. Oh god my life will not be complete until I own this keyboard or it's identical twin. It'll be an investment for my future. Really. *is dying a little inside*

Soon as I got here, I rushed up to check the tennis scores too, much to the bemusement of my non-tennis loving brother and girlfriend. Andy, you give me hope again. Murray well, not so pleased with you. Hello, third set? Doofus. I'm going to try and watch some tennis around moving and shopping tomorrow but I doubt much will be seen. Especially since the TV itself has to be shifted at some point. At least there's no Andy tomorrow and I kindofsortof trust Roger enough not to worry about him against never-been-past-second-round tomorrow. It'll be a pretty good day to miss really, since I don't care about anyone other than Murray. Saturday, that might cause me some more woe.

This keyboard has a scroll wheel on the left, so I've got one on the mouse AND on the keyboard. It's the best thing I've ever seen. It's awesome. I may have to chain myself to it and demand to take it home with me.

Other than that, um. My life is dull. Had Chinese food. Chinese food goooooooood.

Oh and the pet hedgehog? Cutest. Thing. EVER. :D

EDIT: Okay, the keyboard and mouse combo used to be £130? My brother can get me it for £56. I am so, so tempted. Oh god, tempted beyond words. I COULD WRITE EPICS ON THIS.

Also, my brother has this song which I desperately wanted when I heard it on Spiderman 2 yesterday.

This? IS MY HAPPY PLACE.
clo_again: (Wimbledon)
[livejournal.com profile] lossi and/or [livejournal.com profile] kindoftrouble, can I beg you into texting me Rafa's results and Andy's later? I'll be twitching the whole way down to Cardiff otherwise. :-)
clo_again: (Roger/Pineapple - OTP)
Off to Cardiff soon. Well, probably since I need to wash my hair and pack and eat something because I'm starving, all in the... sixteen minutes left until I'm supposed to be ready to leave. Eh. I might just watch the last few games of Nadal's third set in stunned silence because, dude. He's losing to a guy ranked what, two hundred in the world? Even if he does look like Mardy in an oddly warped way.

Does it make me a bad person to be pleased Agassi is doing well in his last Wimbledon? Yeah I don't like the guy at all but he's done a lot for tennis and he deserves a good final run at the best the premier his favourite tournament. Though sadly, it doesn't look like he'll be getting that third round match up with Rafa everyone was so keen on. :( Then again, there's no fat lady singing yet so it ain't over yet.

Oh *nice* forehand. Um. What did I say about it not being over?

La la. Cardiff shopping tomorrow. I love Cardiff. It has Welsh people (no comments on Southerners ;) ) and Doctor Who and that really cool theatre down on the bay. And Starbucks, yay! Happy times.

Eight minutes now. Ooooohhhh dear. :)
clo_again: (Roger - Poncey)
I've never screamed this much abuse at Roger before. Oh Roger, I love you more than life itself -- even with the blazer my mother just opinioned looks "Pratty" -- but you lose at life when it comes to a Brit winning Wimbledon. ;) I'll be cheering for you just the same next match, when you whether or not you win this.

Now, stop playing so well and let Tim win a set dammit! Fall on your face, get a blister, trip over your shoelaces, all is fair when it comes to Tim and Wimbledon. ;-) Come on Tim!

edit: Oh Tim, you wound my soul. I know it's not gentlemanly but I give you permission to sneak up behind Roger and bop him on the head with your racquet at the changeover.

And McEnroe likes the blazer. :p INTIMIDATION TACTICS. I like that better than the excuse of Roger having no fashion sense.

*amused at the umpire having to try three times to get the crowd to stop the Mexican wave*

edit: Hah, they've postponed the news until after this match. BBC I <3 you.

edit: Commentators advice to Tim:

"Just go over the other side of the net and slap him in the head or something."
"Yeah, take the Roddick approach to Federer."

*is dead with glee*

edit: Oh... Timmy.

edit: Boris looks much smarter this year. I'd be squeeing "BORIS" right now, if they weren't talking about the World Cup.

You might've noticed but this is *Wimbledon*. If this was an English exam, you'd lose points for going off-topic; as it is, you lose at life in my eyes BBC. :p
