Apr. 20th, 2009 10:37 pmYou know what my first, immediate thought was on seeing this picture of Paul McDermott?
"Dear god, this man would get on marvellously with Derren Brown."
When two hemispheres collide. Hm. Odd.

Taronga Zoo today was good. Gorgeous views across the harbour from everywhere and the shows were good. Plus they had snow leopards! But I don't know, I came away from the cat enclosures with a vague sense of disatisfaction. They were fine and lovely, and Chester Zoo doesn't exactly give them acres but the snow leopards especially looked bored senseless. I still wanted to buy a snow leopard plushie from the shop but they were $27 each and I backed away very quickly.
So it was a nice day. I loved the Sky Safari cable cars; Chester has to get itself one of those. But otherwise, it stills pwns. Mostly. Their seal show could do with some brushing up to match Taronga's. Likewise the bird show was against a view of the harbour; no bird show in the world has such an incredible backdrop. But I'd still rather spend the day in Chester.
I'm very sad to be leaving Sydney tomorrow. IN FACT, I'm so sad that I've Googled up where the ABC shop is (about two minutes away! :D) and tomorrow morning I'm off in search of DAAS. Screw having to carry it; it's worth it. Then I'm going to the IMAX, finally, because I'm so tired after five solid days of walking. And food and then walk to the bus and bye bye Sydney. I loved you passionately. I'll definitely be seeing you again.
