clo_again: (Derren Brown - Not Psychic; just awesome)

You know what my first, immediate thought was on seeing this picture of Paul McDermott?

"Dear god, this man would get on marvellously with Derren Brown."

When two hemispheres collide. Hm. Odd.

Taronga Zoo today was good. Gorgeous views across the harbour from everywhere and the shows were good. Plus they had snow leopards! But I don't know, I came away from the cat enclosures with a vague sense of disatisfaction. They were fine and lovely, and Chester Zoo doesn't exactly give them acres but the snow leopards especially looked bored senseless. I still wanted to buy a snow leopard plushie from the shop but they were $27 each and I backed away very quickly.

So it was a nice day. I loved the Sky Safari cable cars; Chester has to get itself one of those. But otherwise, it stills pwns. Mostly. Their seal show could do with some brushing up to match Taronga's. Likewise the bird show was against a view of the harbour; no bird show in the world has such an incredible backdrop. But I'd still rather spend the day in Chester.

I'm very sad to be leaving Sydney tomorrow. IN FACT, I'm so sad that I've Googled up where the ABC shop is (about two minutes away! :D) and tomorrow morning I'm off in search of DAAS. Screw having to carry it; it's worth it. Then I'm going to the IMAX, finally, because I'm so tired after five solid days of walking. And food and then walk to the bus and bye bye Sydney. I loved you passionately. I'll definitely be seeing you again.

Next: Brisbane and [livejournal.com profile] acityofwonder. :DDDDDD THIS TRAVELLING THING IS AWESOME. You leave somewhere and you're sad about it but then, you're heading on to things of equal awesome. It's fantastic.

*pouts*

That is what I love the most about travelling! The excitement of being somewhere new, or somewhere you've been before to see new things, and just generally exploring. :D I AM SO JEALOUS OF YOU. I am not sure it is coming across exactly how jealous I really am. I'd give anything to be somewhere not here. Even sell my soul so Nadal wins Wimbledon for the next ten years (and you know how much I love Wimbledon, and how the grass is Sacred).

Oh travelling. I miss you so.

I will trade you for your travelling though, given that this is the first time I've left the country (one overnight to Ireland = doesn't really count) in six years. You've seen a lot more shiny places. *wants*

No! Not Nadal! Think of how awesome it'll be when we do New Zealand together! Anything but Nadal winning Wimbledon. And Wimbledon is hardly any time at all away now really and there is tennis and Barrowman before Christmas. The rest of this year has much awesome lined up. Life will get better. *hugs*

But you are seeing an awesome place for three months so that adds up to probably more than all of my travelling over the last six years. ;) Before I knew you I didn't really travel all that much so that's really only three-and-a-half years. :p

... Okay, the thought of going to Wimbledon with you has appeased me. Because before Wimbledon there is Prague and Paris, and then there is the GRASS OF EXTREME AWESOME (which makes it sound like weed). I have yet to book Barrowman tickets... so I will get on that. Like, tomorrow.
