Me: Haha, Maria Sharapova is in Djokovic's box.
Mother: Who?
Me: You know. Blond. Sparkly. Won Wimbledon a while back.
Mother: Oh, the lesbian.
Me: ...
Me: ...
Me: What?
Mother: Isn't she the lesbian?
Me: In which universe have you been watching tennis?!

This is where someone points out to me that Sharapova came out last week and my mother knows more about tennis than me (hahaha. ...No, really. Don't ruin my life like that). I was mainly laughing at Sharapova being in Djokovic's box because we'll get to write an article next April Fools titled "RODDICK/DJOKOVIC FIGHT DUEL FOR SHARAPOVA'S HAND". In y'know, marriage or the girlfriendy sense, not the we-would-like-to-keep-your-hand-in-a-jar-yes-Captain-Jack-I-am-looking-at-you sense.

Hello the web. Am not dead; it's just been the two days out of the month where I'm allowed to indulge my female right to just sleep, eat and bitch. Have decided chocolate is better than painkillers. Think I might enlist [livejournal.com profile] rainy_roz as resident scientist of our group of twenty-somethings to do the necessary research and market chocolate painkillers with me. Billions of pounds in waiting right there.

Also, my mother finally agreed to let me buy rats. Score! Only I can't find a suitable cage. Unscore. All my dole lazy asshole money this week is going on an external hard drive anyway. The search for a rat cage of no-more-than-75cm-in-length will continue.

In conclusion: go read [livejournal.com profile] kindoftrouble's latest Andy/Roger fic. Because it's very, very pretty and you should. There is not enough tennis fic this good out there.

Bed. Tomorrow, sign on, buy phone credit (why I've pretty much not replied to texts for weeks), sit in the library to write while waiting for lift home, LJ comments. And then maybe Run, Fatboy, Run depending on what the Hollywellians are doing. So. Around to play catch-up sometime tomorrow.

I want my Roger icons back. Have none. Am bad tennis fan. Woe.

Everytime I start to watch Andy, he starts to lose. SO I'm off to play on my new GTA: Vice City that arrived today instead.

Enjoyed 1408 very much. Not perhaps the best movie ever but the jumps were good without being OTT (that is, for me who only finds a specific minority of films freaky enough for emotional scarring. It depends how jumpy you are) and John Cusack was awesome. Plus the frozen hotel room was a beautiful effect/set. Whatever people have said about the ending (I'd read bad things about it), for what it's worth I liked it. Two thumbs up.

I didn't have time to buy a new sketchbook after and still catch the bus. Irritation. Have to go back in Wednesday for some stupid jobs fair thing, so I can pick one up then, along with some bright cutlery. I'm sick of silver; I've used purple-handled ones for three years and damned if I'm going to settle for boring again. Along with the laundry basket I picked up today, room is becoming more like my Lancaster room every day.

Only I discovered today that the rat cage I wanted is three cm too big for the space I have. Very, very annoying since Pets at Home throw in the bedding, food, cleaning stuff and treats with the cage, something I doubt I'll get anywhere else. Add to that the fact that parents won't give me lifts to other pet stores and it's a setback. A somewhat bigger setback than I would've liked, but still. Seeing the two rats they had in the store today, one using the other as a pillow, reaffirmed that I love them and I want some. I'll just have to start shopping around for cages that'll fit is all.

A minor plus is that I checked the website and it listed the cage I was planning to get as big enough for four rats. Considering I only want two, a 3cm-smaller cage shouldn't be too much of a hardship.

edit: Yay Andy! Not that a retirement is a win but still, he was winning before. It counts.

Roger is going to be on at like, stupid-o-clock in the morning but I might stay up to watch it. If Roger wins to get an Andy-Roger match, it'll be worth it.

A wasp flew through my window and woke me from another great dream this morning. (I was luring a dragon away from some trapped people in this weird post-apocalypse world. By flying away with fake wings and jet packs on my feet. I know. No one should have this many cool dreams so close together but I am. Think life sucks right now, so my subconscious is compensating. I dreamt I married Roger Federer two nights ago - no, really. It was a marriage of convenience to hide his gayness and his mother didn't like me.

...My subconscious needs therapy.)

Anyway, swore a lot inbetween the shrieking and falling out of bed and out of the room. Bastard insects. Then proceeded to get annoyed at my mother after only being awake ten minutes, which may be a record. Just because I don't tell her every thought that goes through my head doesn't mean I don't have said thoughts. Telling me I should be doing things I already do in a patronising tone of voice does nothing except piss me off. Shockingly. Thankfully she wants to go off somewhere all day and the father's playing golf and I'll have the house to myself. God. I miss Lancaster where wasps never flew in my room and I didn't have people ordering me around when I'd just woken up. Even Sex-crazed Fresher wasn't this annoying.

In good news, bribed asked [livejournal.com profile] hill2k, [livejournal.com profile] dukedee and Chris to take part in the Birthday Rat Escapade and they said yes. October 26th. More than two months. >_< Must not go crazy.

...I have nothing else to say. Nothing on TV right now (still haven't watched the last episode of Hyperdrive.) Nothing in the cinema until Run, Fatboy, Run really. Trying to read Pride and Prejudice but keep getting sidetracked.

Did rewatch Kinky Boots last night and decided the three of them walking off arm-in-arm at the end is a definite implication of a happy threesome. At least in my world.
