I was trying to avoid letting Tursunov's blog distract me this week but I've failed dismally as of now. Seriously, the guy makes me wonder how many real tennis players are snooping around the internet pretending to be shrieking fangirls. And being *better* at it than most of the shrieking fangirls, crikey. He's a complete nut and it's wonderful. The mention of scary cat fights in the locker room over the massage table? *dies*

I actually came back online because I'm bored and I know this essay is appallingly bad because I was wondering how to politely say "fucked her" in an essay context. "had sex with" I guess, because "slept with" feels totally dumb like I'm dancing around the point being too shy to say it but... eh.

1, 726 words. Once I get to 2,000 I'm going for a shower 'cause it'll be halfway and I need to be awake for the second half. Oh god. I'm doing so badly at this but I'm figuring I got good marks in the rest of the module so this shouldn't pull it down beyond redemption. I really did pick the hardest topic in existence, because in the words of Casanova I'm a knob I'm an idiot. Sigh.

edit: I also promise to stop spamming you all with pointless posts from tomorrow since this is the last really hard piece of coursework I have to do. Except the poetry portfolio but even that isn't this bad. Eh.

*dies again* I'm BLUSHING writing this essay. *Blushing*, writing a theory essay! I'm never going to be able to look my tutor in the eye again.

I chickened out and went with "sleeps with her" that time. I have a feeling it's going to need to be mentioned again though. What. Was. I. Thinking? *headdesk*

Dude, it's just sex. Put the technical terms in and just roll with it ;) try thesaurus.com maybe?

You're doing Lolita, you're not allowed to have shame :p

*giggles* Want to write it for me? ;) I think I need to steal your attitude to it. I can't believe, given what I've written before, that I'm getting embarrassed by *euphemisms*. I may do that actually, since I definitely need to say it somehow.

*grins* Perhaps I should've thought about that *before* I reached the night before I had to hand it in. ;) Hell, at least I'm halfway through now.

No thank you, I have my maths exam on Friday and I'm fucked. :p I guess it was just the attitude we had in school when covering stuff like this. I mean, we did "The Bell". Sex, incest, homosexuality...

I don't wanna sound mean and please don't take this the wrong way, but when you're writing about subject matter like the stuff in Lolita, especially in an academic sense, I think it pays off to cut out the euphemisms. It just seems more profession.

*pets* Don't worry, I'm fucked with this project too. Everyone has to be convinced they're going to fail something during uni and usually it doesn't turn out to be quite so bad. Um. Except with this project. Be comforted that you're a first year though and it is much easier to get a passing mark than you might think, which is all that matters.

*grins* Well yes to an extent. If I was dancing around saying things like "in the scene where he steals the delicate blossom of innocence from her", then all I'd get is an eyeroll and probably a rude comment scribbled across it but at the same time if I repeatedly say "sex" and "sexual intercourse" it... I don't know, it's hard to explain. Maybe it's because the novel itself skips around the sex, maybe because I'm trying to emphasise that it's not pornographic but I don't want to be repeating 'when they have sex in..." over and over. It... I guess I want a slightly more formal tone. I do know what you mean. *pets* I think I'm just wary of becoming too comfortable with throwing the terms around and him dismissing it as me only having chosen to do Lolita,/i> so I get to talk about sex.
