Idly checking what I can and can't send to K in Oz -- a little late now, having been sending stuff there for years but eh, better late than never -- and apparently you can't send 'horror comics' from Australia to the UK. *blinks* Horror comics? Meaning... what exactly? I'm also a little bemused by the 'mineral products', although that at least makes some sense on the scientific level. It's just vague. What constitutes "mineral products"? I mean, would something like a semi-precious stone be a mineral? An amethyst bracelet? Or do they mean literal chunks of rock? The Australia Post Office site is beating the UK one for easy to find info though, no question.

I'm wasting time again, it's turning into a habit. At least I actually started work today, not that I got particulary far.

Yay Royal Mail! Took you a while but you gave me the list in the end. Sigh.

edit: I'm considering whether or not chocolate will be considered "perishable". Hmm. I did promise Chocolate Survival Packages though. And short of the box actually getting lost for a year or so, at which point she won't be in Oz to receive it anyway, I can't see anything that would go terribly wrong with it, short of it maybe getting a little soft and that's easily solved by sticking it somewhere cool for a few hours. Mmmm.

It's only chocolate, it's not like it'll cost a lot anyway. If Customs confiscate it, then they do. *shrugs*

I'm sure that being a friend of yours, K would have discovered the wonder that is Tim Tams, but do you know if she's been taught how to bong a coffee with them? Because that is an essential part of being a Tim Tam eater and I would hate for her to miss out on that experience.

Also do you know if she's tried Vegemite yet?

*Bong* a coffee?! Okay I have no idea what Tim Tams are but I definitely want to know now. *giggles* Alas, K doesn't like coffee. -_- I'm working on it but it's hard from this distance. Next year, my evil plan is to have my entire flat addicted to coffee. ;)

I will ask. ^_^ (You Aussies have the coolest names for things.)

ok, Tims are the most kick arse chocolate biscuits on the face of the earth. I'll try and send some. To coffee bong with a Tim Tam (and it really only works with Tim Tams), you bite off one corner, bite off the diagnolly opposite corner, lower one end in and suck the coffee through the bikkie with the other end. It's disgustingly easy to work your way through a whole packet of Tim Tams doing this. So delicious though.

They won't. Janika sends me chocolate practically by the kilo.

Just make sure you declare it on the package or they might open it up for a look. They did that with my Christmas package.

All I know is that ex-pats in Australia always load up on cadburys here, since the Aussie stuff has some anti-melting stuff in it that makes it taste not as nice.

o_O That should be against some great rule of chocolate, putting stuff in it that makes it taste worse. Can't beat Cadburys though, really. *pets it*
