Computer still flatly refuses to acknowledge our internet connection, despite my best efforts. -_- Add to that the fact it has no Word on it yet and my cd of Microsoft Office is back in Lancaster, along with my Photoshop cd, and I'm seriously considering packing the whole thing up and letting it sit in a corner until I get back to Lancaster. Even though a niggling little part of me is wondering how it's going to get along with the notoriously finicky university internet setup if it won't even work with ours.

The only thing saving it from a good kicking right now is that the Sims 2 runs much better on it than it does on our old computer and really, that's not a lot of help to me most of the time. I think it might be an IP problem but I've no idea how to sort it actually it's not, I fixed that and it still isn't working, so I've been sulking instead. That at least, I can do. ;) I just want it connected the internet, please. For godssake, why do they have to make technology so useless?

But apart from wanting to go back to Lancaster to fetch my cds when I haven't even been home 24 hours yet, all is okay. Casper missed me, I think. :) He came and climbed all over me this morning, which is unusually affectionate for him and, after snuggling a kitten small enough to sit on the palm of my hand all weekend, it's quite a change to have the great big fluffy lump that is Casper walking all over me. I think I like Casper better. :)

I have a mountain of bags to unpack and stuff to do and instead I'm sitting here messing around with the computers. *sighs* Suppose I should go be useful somehow. Just a question of where to start.

Technology is fantastic, but also evil. *hugs* Wireless internet connections can be picky at the best of times. *has major issues with mine*

But at least yay for The Sims 2 :D

It's good when it works but when it doesn't... Sigh. I'd rather have wires running everywhere than have signal problems and whatnot with the wireless. -_-

Definite yay for Sims 2, especially since I can buy the new exapansion packs for it now. :D

Definitely. The wireless is good unless there are problems. My old laptop was just awful with the wireless internet.

:D The expansion packs are great.

(And is the address I sent your card to your home address?)

I love wireless in that I can use my laptop anywhere without bothering with wires but yeah, it can be the most awful thing at times. Especially since the signal is terrible in my room. -_- They need to invent a way of making it all work on every computer. Somehow. ;)

I've been staring at them longingly without buying because I knew it'd be a waste when I couldn't use them in Lancaster but now it's going to be awesome. :D

(It is. :) Thought it was best to give that one in case people's stuff arrived after I got home for Christmas.)

That's totally the best thing about it. My room is okay, as it's right over the wireless router, but my sister's room is just *awful*. I'm so glad I don't have her room. They should do, any computer, anywhere.

Totally awesome :D

(Okay. Tomorrow you will have surprise things in the mail. And as I have an extra copy of 2005 : A Year In Tennis Pictures (don't ask why I have two), would you like it? Obviously, if you don't have it already.)

My laptop is terrible anywhere but the living room but, despite telling me there is no signal, the 'net on the new computer is working just fine. Selective wireless, it's like it just doesn't like some computers. If I was her, I'd probably be trying to bribe you into moving rooms. ;-) On the day someone invents that internet, I think we should be there to give them a giant cookie for being so awesome.

:D Hardest thing now will be waiting until I have the money to buy them. These things should be provided free, for the sake of our sanity. ;)

(*SHRIEKS* OMGNOWWAY?! I'd *love* it, thank you so much. (I won't ask. ^_~) :D And surprise things?! Oooo, now I'm intrigued. I love getting things in the mail. *big hugs* Yay!)
