Wrote a nice long post last night, explaining why I'd been AWOL all day and squeeing about the fact R and I have finally picked dates to go down to Wimbledon (Saturday 25th June! *SQUEES*) and so on. Then LJ lost it and I decided it wasn't interesting enough to retype and went to bed. Still at 4am, which considering I'd have about four hours sleep the night before was a little entertaining. Brain = mush.

So now I'm trying to catch up with all the pretty fic and keep updating Play Suspended which is getting more and more complicated entertaining as I add more author pages, and damn, do you all know how much tennis slash we've written since last summer? I still can't believe I could practically count the fics I could find last July on one hand, whereas now I'm fairly sure we've hit or are close to hitting, the hundred mark. And watching the numbers of people interested in 'tennis slash' go up - twenty three now, from about four or five last summer - is just amazing. ^____^

But I already got up late today and I need to go and be accomplished, so I'm going to go do that for a while. Hopefully fic tonight. And the Doctor Who episode with the Daleks!! *bounces with excitement* *is such a geek and proud of it*

EDIT: o_O I am never letting myself get this behind in updating Play Suspended ever again. It's insanity. The sheer amount of fic... and I'm not even finished yet! Dude. Wow.

Did you know that at Easter in Cyprus, they burn stuffed effigies meant to represent Judas? (It's the Cyprian Easter tonight and I've just been chatting to one of my Cyprian flatmates.) I found that fascinating, that over here we burn the stuffed 'guys' in November to represent Guy Fawkes, and at a completely different time and with a different meaning, Cypriots do exactly the same thing.

Do any other cultures burn 'guys' or scarecrows for other reasons? It seems such a bizarre thing to do and yet there's more than one country that does it for completely different reasons. *ponders* So, 'fess up. Who on my f-list burns 'people' during the year?
