Though how much of it is coherent... At least I think I'm starting to find the plot now. Apologies for the backstory and exposition; there's a lot of setting up for the next few chapters in this. Plenty of action in part five though, which won't be out till the weekend as I have to actually do some work now. *sighs* I'm also having a little too much fun with inventive technology really. Humour me. I'm crazy and sleep-deprived.

Title: Words and… (Halcyon 4)
Rating: R
Pairing: Implied Roddick/Fish, hints of Roddick/Federer
Summary: … The world ended. People didn’t. Not quite.
Notes: AU fic set in a hypothetical post-‘apocalyptic’ near future (I do love my apocalypses and jumping on the current AU bandwagon seemed like a good idea.) But this is one plot bunny that hasn’t had enough caffeine to sort itself out yet and I’m still sorting the threads out, so bear with me. Centred mainly around Roger’s POV with side trips into... well that would be telling. ;)
Disclaimer: Hasn’t… um, won’t happen to my knowledge, the various tennis players own themselves. Blame the plotbunnies. They started it.
Dedications: For [livejournal.com profile] liroa15, who may (again) refuse to speak to me after this. For [livejournal.com profile] scoobydumblonde who let us convert her. For everyone who encouraged me with this. It may have been a bad idea. :)
Warnings: Abuse, violence, deaths of various RL people you may be fond of, mentions of terrorism, voluntary/involuntary drug use, the world post-‘apocalypse', probably more I've missed. It’s all fun and games here.

(H4) Words and... )

I am so asleep right now, s'crazy. Emails, comments and whatnot will be answered and so on in the morning. I may pass out if I don't get some proper sleep right now though. *flops*

EDIT: Added the banner, which I forgot about earlier. Because this is fast approaching Parisian Dreams length and over, so it really needs a banner. Not just an excuse to play on Photoshop. Nope.

To bed!

Oh god...

... words cannot describe how much I love this song. I forgot about it for months until I found a reference to it in fic notes and downloaded it again. It makes me want to hug everyone. I'm so glad I found it again.

Oh I need to do some work. *runs off to do some before she fails English*

EDIT: Oh dear, I completely forgot it was the Ides of March. *waves to [livejournal.com profile] threegoldfish for reminding her* Am terrible former Classics student. Anyway - happy Ides of March! Watch out for people with sharp objects. ;)

I just found an old version of Little Red Riding Hood where she takes all her clothes off and gets into bed with the wolf. That is just... There is a line that should never be crossed and that story just crossed it, spat on it and possibly did the hula on it. May go scrub my brain with a wire brush for a while now. *shudders*

On the plus side I'm finding lots of helpful stuff in One Thousand and One Nights and I'm finally getting an essay plan worked out. I do however need an 'early' night, so I'm off to have dinner (yes, it is nearly midnight but I'm a student so it's allowed ^__~) and read a bit more before getting some actual sleep. May pop in and out sporadically tomorrow as I attempt to actually write this damn thing. I therefore make no promises as to the coherence of my posts, since I'll probably be a gibbering mess of fear at all the sexual innuendo psychoanalysts have found in fairy tales. It's just a f**king snake dammit! Don't do this to my childhood!

In other news my body is being a pain right now and I'm not sure why. My favoured theory is that it's revenge for a relatively illness-free childhood. Or a rebellion caused by sleep deprivation or lack of actual food, I can't tell but it's driving me nuts. Tempting to stay in bed all day tomorrow - since I can write an essay in pajamas just as well as dressed - but it depends. Will see in the morning.

Off to have food and sleep, two things I severely lack right now. Until tomorrow...

"Tell me, my sister, some tale of wonder to beguile the night..."

I am not getting tennis slash plot bunnies related to fairytales. Nope. Absolutely not.
