Woe is me...
Mar. 15th, 2005 11:49 pmI just found an old version of Little Red Riding Hood where she takes all her clothes off and gets into bed with the wolf. That is just... There is a line that should never be crossed and that story just crossed it, spat on it and possibly did the hula on it. May go scrub my brain with a wire brush for a while now. *shudders*
On the plus side I'm finding lots of helpful stuff in One Thousand and One Nights and I'm finally getting an essay plan worked out. I do however need an 'early' night, so I'm off to have dinner (yes, it is nearly midnight but I'm a student so it's allowed ^__~) and read a bit more before getting some actual sleep. May pop in and out sporadically tomorrow as I attempt to actually write this damn thing. I therefore make no promises as to the coherence of my posts, since I'll probably be a gibbering mess of fear at all the sexual innuendo psychoanalysts have found in fairy tales. It's just a f**king snake dammit! Don't do this to my childhood!
In other news my body is being a pain right now and I'm not sure why. My favoured theory is that it's revenge for a relatively illness-free childhood. Or a rebellion caused by sleep deprivation or lack of actual food, I can't tell but it's driving me nuts. Tempting to stay in bed all day tomorrow - since I can write an essay in pajamas just as well as dressed - but it depends. Will see in the morning.
Off to have food and sleep, two things I severely lack right now. Until tomorrow...
"Tell me, my sister, some tale of wonder to beguile the night..."
I am not getting tennis slash plot bunnies related to fairytales. Nope. Absolutely not.
