So Fright Night is currently sponsoring SyFy's evening shows or something, which meant they aired the Fright Night trailer before tonight's episode of Eureka and mini-trails at the start and end of each ad break. I've been watching with half an eye for Colin Farrell (because hey, gratituous Colin-Farrell-being-a-hot-vampire is not to be taken for granted) but I was really looking out for Tennant.

There was a brief shot of him with A GIANT GUN OF AWESOME in the full trailer, then nothing through two ad breaks until MY SCREEN WAS GRACED WITH THIS JOY OF JOYS, THIS DELIGHT OF MY HEART, THIS THING FOR WHICH WORDS ARE NOT ADEQUATE:

They also had giant-sized posters of him up in the cinema today when I went to see Cowboys & Aliens (another post for another time when I am not more than ninety percent incoherent with flail). Can I have this movie now please? Now? NOW?

Perhaps I should rephrase. I WANT THIS DAMN MOVIE RIGHT NOW. TWO MORE WEEKS IS TOO LONG. DAMN YOUS ALL.

I have to go back and concentrate on Eureka now, oh god. I was enjoying the episode before and everything. I have left semi-naked David Tennant in eyeliner on pause though; I better not leave him there until morning. A. he might be burned into the screen (please deity-of-your-choice, I'll be good forever I promise) and B. he might scare my mother in the morning.

I want this movie. I don't care if it's the worst thing to splatter itself across screens since Kevin and Perry Go Large. I need a movie of The Tennant looking like that in my life right now.

<3<3<3<3

eta: Er, I will say that Rotten Tomatoes actually rates this Fright Night as 74% fresh and the reviews mostly all seem to say it's a lot of fun, so go and see it even if you're not one for gratituous Tennant eyeliner. There are vampires! And Tennant in eyeliner! Oh wait.

No really, I think we should all go and see. EVERYONE. Then they'll have no excuse not to hire him for every movie requiring him to wear eyeliner and be a ridiculous-yet-hot vampire hunter EVER AGAIN.

OMG, Tennent, be more awesome why don't you?

TELL ME MORE ABOUT THIS FILM, THANK YOU PLEASE!

Also also, I am now back in the country and back to work in about... 7 hours, JOY. So, did you get anything in the post? And how much should I be nagging you about writing??

:D :D :D

If he gets any more awesome, the universe would crumple inwards and implode under the sheer weight of his awesomehood. Trufax. <3 Why is there only one of him and not enough for us all to have one each?

IT IS ABOUT A VAMPIRE (Colin Farrell) WHO MOVES IN NEXT DOOR TO A BOY, WHO REALISES HE'S A VAMPIRE AND - WAIT FOR IT - GOES TO VEGAS TO ASK FOR A VAMPIRE-EXPERT MAGICIAN'S (TENNANT)'S HELP KILLING THE VAMPIRE. NO LIE. (Even just typing the synopsis, my face is like :D How RIDICULOUSLY AMAZING does that sound?! \o/) People keep saying it was released in the US AND UK on August 19th but Imdb says UK September 2nd and that's when Lancaster's Vue is showing it from. I'm surprised they didn't hold it back until Halloween but getting to see it a month earlier is fine with me. :D

I can't believe you're back already; all week I've been thinking "I will get organised and surprise Jess when she's back!" oh god. *shame* But at least now I can say yes I had post, yay! :D \o/ It's on my desk in a shiny gold sack of temptation right now; the idea was to reward myself with an episode per like 500 words I write. Which is er, why I haven't watched an episode yet. >_< I think I need to be locked in a room with a chair and a non-internet capable laptop and no Sims, no Kingdom of Loathing, no nothing except my notebook.

(Except that sounds like I just need to get myself arrested. Er. Maybe I won't go that far. But you should nag, definitely. And possibly find some way to cut Cumbria off the internet for a weekend.)

I think that a world filled with enough Tennents for everyone to have might really implode thanks to the awesome! BUT HE'S SO AWESOME!! <3 <3

AND OMG WHAT KIND OF FILM IS THAT? IT SOUNDS AMAZING, I HAVE TO WATCH IT! Despite my general feelings of 'meh' when it comes to Colin Farrell. Ahhhh, and it's almost September :DDDD

Yes, back already, how rubbish is that? Back to the grindstone and soon to be back to the MA and dissertation (which I might chat to you about once I start having ideas, if that's ok?) So so glad the post made it - lets just hope that the DVDs work now! *bites fingernails* Rewarding yourself with The Office is a great idea, but be warned! It's pretty addictive - you may have to write more and then reward yourself with more! If I could lock you away, then I definitely would do... in a non-creepy way! Instead I'll just NAG NAG NAG NAG NAG NAG NAG. GET WRITING, OMG! Deadine this Sunday - get some words on gdocs for me to read! (I'll see what I can do about cutting off the internet! :D)

Oh, also! Read The Dead Tossed Waves and then the last in the trilogy, The Dark and Hollow Places. I liked this look at the world slightly more than the first book, because you got to learn more about what happened/what it means. No Feed, but an alright zombie book! Although yeah, the narrator could be a bit annoying! Have you read the third book yet? Thoughts?

Certainly no women or gay men would ever get any work done in Tennant World, what with the constant gleeful flailing. Maybe just a Tennant each for you and me then! :D The world would only implode a little bit with Tennant+2 awesome.

I KNOW RIGHT; IT'S SO RIDICULOUS IT IS ACTUAL GENIUS. :DDDD (It's a remake of a 1985 film, also called Fright Night, that is apparently also v.good. But that one doesn't have Tennant being a ridiculous Vegas magician in eyeliner, so.) It's so close now! There's posters for it all over the Lancaster Vue; I keep meaning to take sneaky phone pics of the giant Tennant one. I can't wait!

Where did the time go, wtf. I feel like I've sleepwalked through August somehow. (That's totally fine; I miss getting to be an English student! Have you decided what you're dissertation's on?) Ahh, so instead of 500 words and then one-episode-which-turns-into-five, better to aim for 1000 words and then if one episode does turn into five, not such a big deal. Got it. :D It's got to the point where I'm actually hiding my notebook under papers on my floor because I'm too ashamed to look at it; it's ridiculous. -_- I have finished another wolf book though! I'm going to start making wolf behaviour notes to help get me going. I tell you what, wolves are awesome. (Please cut off my internet. >_< I waste so much of my life on it doing nothing.)

I'm still haunted by the incredibly annoying voice of the woman who read The Dead Tossed Waves audiobook (I don't know if the main character actually whines as much as I remember or if it was just the whiny tone the woman read every sentence in but twenty minutes in I would've cheerfully pushed Gabry to the zombies and let them eat her without a regret) so I haven't got around to the print version. I got quite a way through the audiobook, enough that I could probably just move on to the third one; it sounds pretty good from the Amazon reviews (though, I suspect Feed and Deadline may have ruined me for other zombie books. Nothing else could be as good!).

Yes! Let's just get a couple of Tennant clones, so we can each have one to entertain us and the world doesn't implode. Because that would be a bad thing indeed :D

SO RIDICULOUS THAT I CAN BARELY STAND IT! I was going to say it sounds almost too ridiculous to even be a film... and then I remembered Snakes on a Plane hahahaha :D

Yeah, this summer (although I use the term loosely, because it's not been very summery!!) has just flown by. I was going to do so much more writing than I did!! (And yay! It'll be nice to have your opinion on what is bound to be just my ramblings. I was thinking about looking into sex and mode of writing - like how it could be seen that female characters are only really allowed to be main, strong characters within 'fantasy' modes? Or that these modes somehow allow strong female characters to be more 'realistic'? See - Hunger Games, Sabriel, Northern Lights vs Alex Rider etc. Or something. Those are just my rough ideas, it'll obviously be narrowed down A LOT! Thoughts??) And yes. The danger with The Office is two fold - it's awesome AND the episodea are short. So you just keep clicking on the next one! So, yes. Reach a thousand words, then watch series one as a reward. Only 6 episodes! And get that notebook out of the piles right now! Deadline on Sunday, I want something more to read, thank you please! GO GO GO! Sounds like you're researching though, which is always good. I had to revamp my prison plan, UGH. Impossible, really need to lock it down. But, if I learnt anything from my last novel (long, complete, but ultimately rubbish) it is this: Planning makes everything better :D

DUDE. Gabry is SO ANNOYING! Whine more, please! But I liked the other characters and I do like the world there - the third book is the stronger of the two, and had a different narrator. Slightly better, even! I would say finish the second book first, since there are revelations near the end of it which you'll need to understand the third one better. And I didn't really compare them to Feed, mostly because they're both about zombies, but SO DIFFERENT. It's like both authors were given the brief - ZOMBIES!, and then just took it in totally opposite directions. So, interesting in it's own right! But yeah. No Feed :D

Also! Did you ever read my bad!fic sequel? It's here (http://sherlockbbc-fic.livejournal.com/10852.html?thread=53893220#t53893220), because I just found it again and it made me chuckle. I include a random pov change just for you :D :D :D :D

Also, we need to plan our next meetup! Lancaster or Manchester? Have any thoughts? I'm full up most of September I think, so maybe October?

WANT!

Here's the plan - I'll call the TARDIS and get it to transport me to Cumbria 2 weeks from now. Then we go see, yes?

Eyeliner. EYELINER!

On the condition that you pick me up on the way so that I don't have to wait another two weeks for it! :DDDDDD \o/

(I should point out that Imdb says it came out in Australia on August 18th, so you might be able to see it now. *envy* And also, I just found this other picture of him in costume and absolutely have to link you o it: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-cWXX1AbZP34/TbrDarUECGI/AAAAAAAAB6Y/nCh8mw5UxdA/s1600/FN2.JPG )

Long hair... eyebrow ring... facial hair...

*becomes puddle of goo*

And I went to the cinema twice on the weekend and no sign. I think IMDB lies.

SFX maagzine say he's the best thing about Fright Night.

Date: 2011-08-24 09:40 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] clo.livejournal.com
That's because SFX magazine writers have excellent taste! :DDD The general consensus across the world seems to be that he definitely steals the movie. \o/ So excited! (Is that this month's SFX? Does it have Fright Night-related things? I haven't bought it for ages to save money but I miss it; I'd like an excuse to get it again. :D)

Actually, is it next week you're in Lancaster? As yet there's no word on exactly what's happening with work but I'm going to make every effort to be in Lancaster on Tuesday to see Conan (cheap Tuesdays ftw!) Will you be around to meet up/come with to see it?

Date: 2011-08-25 09:00 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] make-a-move.livejournal.com
It has the Fright Night review, I can't remember if there's any features, sorry.

It is indeed! I'll be around Tuesday, yes, I'd be happy yo go to the cinema with you!

That's okay, I'll have a nose in 'smiths on Tuesday. :D I love SFX but I wish it was £3 instead of £3.99. That extra 99p seems to make all the difference, especially when I can pick up a book from Amazon marketplace for £2.80. Sigh.

Hurrah! I must confess that the sole reason I want to see Conan is to watch Jason Momoa running around shirtless and hitting things with a sword; I've heard that as a movie, it's actually pretty terrible. ^_^ I'd like to see One Day too, so whichever!

I am all for shirtless Jason Momoa. I would not turn that down.

I went poking around Fright Night's youtube channel and saw this and just about died! OMG.

I was REALLY skeptical about remaking Fright Night. Then I saw Tennant was in it and WANTED. Now, I'm actually excited about seeing this... provided it ever actually comes to Cut Bank... which it won't. *sigh*

I was innocently watching Eureka when bam! shirtless!eyeliner!Tennant. I shrieked way too loud for 11:30pm. ^__^ I knew he looked great on the posters but this, THIS. <3<3<3

I've never seen the original so I didn't really pay attention until you told me Tennant was in it and since then I've been flailing everytime it's mentioned. :D It's getting pretty good reviews too which is good (Tennant was on Radio 2 here last week saying that he was waiting anxiously to find out if it was a success or a flop so I would've been sad for him if it got bad reviews). We'll add the DVD to our Much Watch list for when we eventually get together! And surely there'll be somewhere around showing it? If all else fails, tell your local cinema that it's the perfect Halloween film and insist they show it in October. :D

I have still not seen that promo. Obviously, I should've watched SyFy's Eureka marathon. :-D

This was made of win. that picture... OMG! I mean, I love him anyhow, but that? Tennant in eyeliner? SO frickin' HOT!

I was so excited when I saw he was in the remake... he is my entire reason to see this movie when/if it comes out anywhere close by. (Great Falls is not so close. It's about two hours one way and I can only get there by driving or being driven.) I'm not a huge Colin Farrell fan, so meh. But Tennant? Mmmm. :-D and yes, this is on our MUST WATCH! list. Along with... oh, all 900 other things... we'll be marathoning for MONTHS at this rate. ;-D

Maybe it'll be on DVD/Blu-Ray by then! I can buy it! And own eyeliner!Tennant!
