Don your epic hats folks, this could be a long one. Not bothering being able to post for a few days due to varying factors - broken internet, tiredness, slow internet, lack of time, crap internet - but building up stuff to say leads to me staring blankly at the update page wondering where to start. I suppose where everyone else has started over the last few days, with the lastest explosion of outrage over LJ.

On a tangent, someone pointed out this rather entertaining Wikipedia article as a tongue-in-cheek example of what we *could* do. I just think the idea of these mini-wars and takeovers going on under everyone's radar is hilarious. Inmates, take note. We could totally do something like this.

What I have been doing in the few days of silence is catching a few good HP fics, both pre- and post-DH. As usual I'm mostly reccing through my memories these days but there's a few that deserve an extra mention:

fourth_rose's wonderful The World of the Living, Harry/Draco, R, AU from HBP so no spoilers for Hallows. A great and absolutely believable Luna-voice, some great Harry-Draco interaction and one of those generally wonderful fics that are as comfortable to slip into - more so maybe - as canon.

And, with spoilers for DH through the epilogue, tkp's Ouroboros, a different and kind of hypnotic take on DH's ending. I get the feeling I'm missing half of it and I need to read it closely along with the epilogue itself but it's- fascinating. The kind of fic you'll never get everything out of and that takes canon to twist it into something new and fascinating. Short and awesome.

There was also a heartbreaking post-DH twin-centric fic that I didn't keep a link for. Dammit. Think it was called Sleepwalking.

I should go do something now. Something-not-sleeping. Maybe finish Wicked or tidy up some of the huge stack of clothes I've just been shifting from chair to bed for days.

Or, sleeping. Sleeping is always good.

Oh christ, now I have to tag all this madness. Sigh.
