I just missed all the pre-Oscar red carpet stuff, which I love, because I was watching more Life on Mars. I'm torn between being annoyed at self and brushing it off because dammit, I've been waiting all day for that episode to download. At least I remembered before the Oscars itself started. (I think my next LoM episode is the Camberwick Green opening. Yay! Yet having seen half of the second series now isn't really dissuading me from wanting to buy the DVDs tomorrow. Mmmmm. Temptation.)

The plan is to watch the first hour of Oscars, then get some sleep because I have to be up early to sign on the dole tomorrow. Considering that I love watching the Oscars, and that I've missed it the last three years because of university + lack of Sky Movies? There's a good chance I'll push it 'just another five minutes' until 5am. Then again, I haven't seen any of the big Oscar movies this year, I don't think. I keep telling myself that next year will be the year I watch everything before the night and every year, it becomes 'next year'. What even are the big movies this year? Juno? The French one, La Vie-something? I miss Lord of the Rings, when I actually had a favourite to cheer for. Maybe I'll just cheer for anything with my favourite people in.

Speaking of which, Johnny Depp was looking mighty fine. As was his ridiculously beautiful girlfriend. *wistful* And me with my hair all flicked out and looking like Betty Rubble because I couldn't be bothered to straighten it. Alas. Still! They may have their glitzy dresses but I have my Eeyore dressing gown, comfy sofa and am off to fetch a cup of tea. Beat that.

(I caught the end of the red carpet pre-show stuff and the interviewer woman totally had no idea who Patrick Dempsey was. She was frantically reading her little card trying to find out his name. It was vaguely hilarious in a "HOW CAN YOU NOT KNOW WHO PATRICK DEMPSEY IS?" way. Pfft. Heathen. :))
