Fish in zero gravity (in a big enclosed tank).

Thoughts?

Now some articles are saying a woman was driving the Bugatti but the inital ones were very clear about it being a man. Curious. I've also remembered that, on Top Gear when they were racing the Bugatti vs plane, Jeremy called an insurance company to check how much the Bug would be to insure... and was told "We don't insure that car." Wonder how they got insurance for this one? Especially if it was going to be a rental? And how much would it be?

Crikey. Some people really do have more money than sense.

In News Of My Life, Gonzo is currently in the small tank by himself because he was sitting on the bottom not going anywhere and wasn't very steady about it whenever he did try to move if something startled him. I've fed him some cooked peas and he seems to be perking up a little or at least managing to stay more upright and off the bottom, mostly. His tail's all ripped again though and I have no idea why.

Fish =/= easy pets. Really not, as much as I love the Muppets. Give me something fluffy that you can easily bundle into a car and take to the vet over this.

I seem to have had an insanely busy day without actually having done anything. Except buy the three original Star Wars films, because I'm weak and the book I'm readying for my dissertation keeps referencing them and it annoys me that I can't remember them that well. On the plus side they were three for £20 and the guy in HMV gave me student discount even though I didn't have a student card on me or at all, since I lost it. Which I suspect -- without proof mind -- might have been because I was a girl buying Star Wars. Or maybe he was just lovely. Anyway, £5 cheaper than play.com. Can't complain.

So dumb with tired. Maybe I should just watch Star Wars and veg. And stop drawing out this dull entry with rambling. ;)

Even listening to the theme from Doomsday makes me depressed. I bitched about them casting Billie Piper in the beginning. I believe I ranted on how they'd ruined the show before they'd even started and no, I wasn't going to make judgments before seeing it but still, they'd killed my enthusiasm for it, damn them.

And then I loved her, which just goes to show you should never open your mouth and stick your foot in based on an ill-advised teenage pop career. The New Girl Whose Name I've Forgotten And Feel Kind Of Bad About It doesn't have that teenage WTFuckery to overcome at least, but it's still hard to remember no, Doctor Who is not and should never, ever be about Billie Piper.

Still. The music makes me depressed. ...shutup.

Page 300 of DaVinci Code. The brain, it melts! Got through an entire one scene of aMSN'sD before falling asleep on the page. Go me. Now in quest of cheeseburger (first Cheeseburger Thursday of the New year!) and thinking I'll watch my third episode of Hustle today with it. Marc Warren may've been bizarre in 'Who but I'd forgotten how much I do love his mad hyperactivity in Hustle.

Kermit is in a strop over me taking out his old too-small hidey-hole in the skull to make room for a new, big one of two barrels and fake!rocks by refusing to hide in them. Ungrateful little loach.

Cheeseburger. Yes.

Flist, why do you desert me in my hour of need? Packing and arguing with the 'rent about packing and the other 'rent's going to get home drunk from a dinner in London in the next hour and there'll be fighting with him over packing, because it's not feasible to fit your life into one -- or in this case two -- car loads. I mean, the car's full with only cooking utensils and bedding and a suitcase of clothes, nevermind the as-yet-unpacked-as-this-post-makes-obvious computer and speakers and DVDs and books, oh god the *books*. I knew buying dissertation stuff over the summer would come back to bite me in the ass.

Don't even get me started on the fish. I want to take them but the big tank needs cleaning ready to go in the second-car-load on Sunday and it's *dark* outside so scrubbing it out there is out of the question. But then, the little tank is way too small to be a permanant solution, nevermind that it's lacking anything except water right now.

And-- and oh *joy*, I've literally just spotted my stack of A4 notebooks behind the computer that need to go too. I'd forgotten about them completely.

This is just not possible. Not at all.

p.s. I'be been looking forward to this night all summer. WHY DIDN'T I USE THAT TIME TO DAMN WELL PACK?

God. Going mad.

Of all the timing... Been keeping an eye on Rizzo for the last couple of days because he's been looking a bit off-colour and today I finally noticed red streaks on his fins. Which means I need to talk the 'rent into going back out to Pets AT Home for medical stuff what Googling is suggesting is an infection and most likely somehow keep him separate from Gonzo and Kermit, which would've been easy if it'd happened in just two more days because I would be back in Lancaster with two tanks to easily separate them. Buggerbuggerbugger.

Someone remind me why I didn't get a hamster?

edit: Parents? Redefine dense.

Me: No, I need to sort it because I *like* my fish.
Mum: Well if he dies, you've still got the other one.

Yeah, my parents. Paragons of sensitivity.

edit: *sighs* Ideally I'd sit down and spend tonight trawling the net but we're leaving 8am tomorrow and I haven't even thought about packing clothes, books, DVDs, work from last year... shifted them to the smaller tank to travel and it's going to have to be a weekend thing. At least keeping an eye on them in uni is easier. Not to mention if it is related to bad water quality because I've totally been putting off cleaning knowing I was going to be moving *facepalm* clean tank will help. I don't know. I'm fine with fish right up until they get sick.

I love the Muppets. :( I'm just useless with them.
