Just came into the bathroom thinking vaguely of having a bath, when I spotted a moth on the door. My mother hates them because of the eating-clothes thing and'll squash them at every opportunity; me, I feel more kindly towards the penny-sized ones over here after one about six inches wide attacked me in Australia (chickybee32 laughed at me. SIX FREAKING INCHES).

So I got it on my hand and carried it to the window, stuck my hand out so it could fly off and it did... directly into a spider web.

I may have spent the next few minutes banging on the window going "SORRY MOTH. FLEE! FLEE THE SPIDER! WRIGGLE MORE! THAT'S IT!" And cheered when it finally twisted free and fluttered off to no doubt be eaten by a bat.

Feel accomplished. Possibly Greenpeace will be on the phone to award me a medal. Or more likely, the men in white coats who my neighbours called after seeing me banging madly on the window yelling gibberish at, apparently, thin air.

...Still, I am that moth's hero tonight. Uh, sort of. I was almost the spider's.

*grins* Yes. Yes it does. But you still mocked my terror at your MUTANT BUGS so I get to have a bit of a dig. ;-) (Seriously, your bugs would EAT our bugs as a light snack.)

*giggles* I've actually felt a little guilty about that lately. Being so used to the 'mutant size' of our bugs, I'm immune to them and I completely lack empathy in that kinda stuff.

Yes but it was a moth. It couldn't kill me and I don't have any particular fear of moths. If it'd been a six-inch wasp on the other hand, you wouldn't have seen me for the dust as I ran all the way to the airport. ;-)

Oh that's the wrong way round - I would've been outta there so quickly that you'd only be able to find me from the hysterical screams!
