Having finally escaped the frustrations of trying to get my mother and aunt not to talk all the way through Wall-e- (at the end after my aunt complained that she didn't know what I saw in it, "But did you see the little robot that followed Wall-e around cleaning up his tracks? He's so cute!" "No I didn't see him! When was he?" "Um. Through about half the movie? And when John fell out his hover-chair and Wall-e tried to push him back in!" "...When was that?!" "...Well you did see Wall-e tell the cockroach to sit before he got on the rocket yeah?" "No, I thought he was with him on the ship?!"

...This is why I should just Not Bother)

- anyway, now I have to go and book my Uluru trip and a few of my hostels in NZ. I'm currently transferring all my music over to Beaver the netbook so I can refill my iPod shuffle (Twinkle) every so often. I'm also putting Black Books and Merlin and maybe some 'Who on here too but I don't have nearly enough room for everything and I can't decide. Plus I want to dl Primeval etc while I'm over there so I'll need more space free and oh, I don't know. Maybe I'll stick a series of Scrubs on because that never gets old.

Tomorrow (uh, actually today) I need to pack and write out my day-by-day plan complete with addresses and preferably with Googlemaps to hostels and such (trust me, I need them.) I'll post my Final Dates and Times for the people I'm staying with later hopefully and y'all can maybe suggest the best way for me to get from wherever I am to you? :)

[livejournal.com profile] chickybee32, can you email me your address? Both for my parents who're demanding to know my precise whereabouts at all times* and IN CASE *touch wood* my luggage goes walkies so I can tell them where to send it when it turns up. Also [livejournal.com profile] mayakitten, I don't think I have your new address? Can you email it to me at cloudymagicjh at googlemail.com? [livejournal.com profile] irradiatedsoup and [livejournal.com profile] acityofwonder I think I have yours right? Unless you've sekritly moved to get away from the crazy British invasion. ;) [livejournal.com profile] acityofwonder, I'm in Brisbane between Wednesday April 22nd and April 29th (I meant to be there longer but I don't seem to have enough time to do everything *sad*) so are there any days that're best to come out and see you or for you to come hang out in Brisbane...? My tendancy-to-panic-and-get-lost-if-not-organised side is niggling because I haven't booked a hostel there yet.

I need to clear and charge the camera (note to self: find and pack charger). Organise what I'm actually taking from the pile of clothes I've been throwing on top of my backpack for two weeks with the vague notion of 'that might be useful! I'll need it if it rains/is sunny/snows/there's a rain of frogs etc.' Reprint all my documents including a photocopy of my passport because Merc, I'm leaving the second copies with you because they''ll get to me faster if Shit Happens and I need them posted, rather than from teh Britains. Possibly you'll assume my identity but since I'm broke already and taking over the world in my name would just put me in charge anyway, I have no worries. ;-)

I'm not organised yet but it's entirely possible that I can be. Maybe. It's slightly terrifying that tomorrow TODAY is my last full day in the UK for two and a half months. Maybe I should write DON'T.PANIC. in big letters on my hands for the flight. Or run out and buy The Hitchhiker's Guide omnibus tomorrow which would probably be more soothing.

Right. Stopping panicking. Focus. Yes.

*I kind of want to do Australia in detail down to the minute, then title a page GO TO NEW ZEALAND... and then the next one ...*STUFF HAPPENS* to get payback for the yelling and the fights we've had this week but it's not worth the extra fights it'd start. The other side of the world is hardly far enough at this point.

Ah, I thought you'd moved before I had your last address. It's a good thing you knew I didn't because otherwise I might've googlemapped my way to your old place and flung myself at whoever opened the door to go "I'M HERE ISN'T IT AWESOME WHERE'S MONKEY DO YOU HAVE BURN GORMAN UNDER YOUR BED WAIT WHy are you not Claire and calling the police maybe I should just go. Um..." But you have saved me from life imprisonment in your country so all is good! :D

That we've spent far too much time plotting blackmail and fic-withholding via the Asylum, LJ and MSN. EVERYTHING IS AN OPPORTUNITY! :D

Damned right it is!

Um, we totally need to figure out when and where I'm picking you up.

:D The world should be afraid that I'm flying out there to see you. One Inmate = chaos, two Inmates = double the world domination opportunities! All we need is one of the others and we'd probably be ruling the galaxy by April 3rd. ^_^

We really do. Uh, what's easiest? My hotel's on Spencer Street but I can walk around to Federation Square or somewhere central? I think my check-out is 11am, so we could say 11:30/12 if I'm walking to somewhere... what d'you think?

Nonono! Spencer st is perfect! Parking might be a bitch, so your first view of me may be a head sticking out a car window Screaming
"HEEEEEELLLLEEEEENNN!!! GET IN THE CAR QUICK BEFORE THE LIGHTS TURN GREEN!"

How bout the main entrance of Southern Cross train station about 11:30-12?

*grins* S'alright; that'd mean your first few of me would be me yelling back "I'MA RUNNING AS FAST AS I CAN!" while passers-by boggle in the background. Chaos! Insanity! Business as usual! :D

Main entrance of Southern Cross station, Spencer Street, I'll be there for 11:30 Wednesday morning. :D I can't believe this is actually happening finally.

Okies! Will probably not be the first day because I'll be sleeping off the 18hr bus trip (I know, 18 freaking hours on a bus! o_O) so maybe the Thurs 23rd we can meet up? Am I coming to stay over in Toowoomba or would you rather we mostly hung out in Brisbane? (as long as I see a Toowoomba sign, I'm happy. ^_^) The Lone Pine Koala sanctuary you mentioned is talked about in every single guidebook I've picked up and looks great so I'd love to do that if it's doable. And I really want to do a day trip to Australia Zoo but I don't know if the train's better than the buses? The Gold Coast = also shiny. Basically Brisbane seems to have a million awesome things to do. :D

I don't have it no, so that'd be great! I'll get my post of dates sorted in a bit so everyone has mine and how to dial it. It's a travel sim so I think there's a slightly roundabout process of actually calling in/out.

But Toowoomba has Kellie, Peppe and also the coolest place name ever! Plus I've been writing it on envelopes for so long I can hardly be so close without seeing it. :) Maybe... if if we meet up on the 23rd, I'll come back with you, see Toowoomba on the 24th then head back to Brisbane on the 25th for the Anzac Day parades (which sound awesome! I'll pretend to be Australian for the day ;) )? My main thought about the Gold Coast so far has been to look at pictures and go '"Omg it's so pretty!" *flails*' The buildings and the beaches and everything, it looks gorgeous so I don't mind doing whatever! Shopping to theme parks to building sandcastles, whatever you think it absolutely unmissable Gold-Coastness. :)

Yaaaaay! I'll see you in less than a month! I can't believe how fast the time's gone.

I shall email it and my mobile number, though depending on where your bus come sin it may be easier me to meet you. If you're coming on the Friday I won't be working... coz Good Friday.

Got it! It'd be good if you could meet me because I have a knack for getting lost (I'm also reading Bill Bryson's Down Under and he describes Canberra as 'a park with a city lost somewhere in the middle', so I'll almost certainly get lost. ^_^ (You know I just wrote this whole comment about getting there on the Wednesday and how it made life difficult, until I realised I arrive Friday and leave Wednesday *facepalm*. I'm getting there about 7:45am though (it was that or 4am o_O) so is that too early? I can go find a cafe or something to hang out in for a bit. My bus gets in to the Joliment Centre on Northbourne Ave, which Googlemaps puts about 40 minutes of walking away and 40 minutes is 80 opportunities for me to get lost, so it'll probably be safer if I don't go wandering off into the wilds of Canberra in an attempt to find you. :)

*giggles*

I think I can manage that early.... or at least 8am. *eyes bus timetable* Just don't expect coherency. :P

As for the park... you go between sub areas and there are paddocks.... within the city... seriously paddocks

From: [identity profile] clo.livejournal.com
:D 8am it is! (I'll text you if we're delayed for any reason, not that I'll have a clue where we are anyway so that depends on the driver actually saying anything. ^_^) Coherency is definitely not required before 11am regardless of hemisphere or time zone! I might only be able to grunt help! coffee! after ten hours on a bus. ^_^ Okay, so shall we say main entrance to the bus station, 8am, Friday 10th April? (I'll have internet between now and then anyway but this is me failsafeing everything I possibly can. :) )

Paddocks?! I'm so looking forward to seeing this now. It sounds so pretty (and also impressive that they actually just haven't built over everything! *bounces*).

I HOPE YOU HAVE AN AWESOME TIME!!!* And do not get lost as you have my Wimbledon ticket. ;)

*I am so incredibly jealous that you are going travelling.

I HOPE SO TOO (right now I'm convinced I haven't planned this properly, that I'll get lost, get on the wrong plane, get eaten by the wolves Australia might-have-possibly, that I've bought all the wrong tickets, that... everything. I suspect I'm not quite as happy a traveller as you yet ;) ) I promise if I get lost in the Outback and adopted by wallabies until July then my parents will be under strict instructions to send you your Wimbledon ticket for fear of my wallaby-driven wrath. ;)

Right now I wish you were coming with me so I could STOP PANICKING. -_-

(Also sorry I haven't been texting back! I only have 7p left on my UK sim and didn't want to top it up before I left. :) In June I was thinking of coming down Thurs 25th/Fri 26th and staying until the following Wed/Thurs, depending on which train tickets look cheapest. Yay for time off! We should actually watch the QAF I still haven't seen. And Top Gear! Yay!)
