My goddamn bus ticket for New Zealand 'isn't valid' because my payment was apparently declined but instead of just not putting the booking through like every other website when there's a problem with your details (it's not the money because I very definitely am not that broke yet so I've just typed something wrong), I have to call them. In fucking New Zealand.

At least it's lunchtime there. Fuck fuck fuckity fuck. They just won the award for most stupid people I've come across while booking this entire trip.

Right. Now to find the country code for New Zealand. Jesus. Good thing it's not my phone bill.

edit: Alright, so the hassle was worth it for the really pretty accent of the New Zealand woman on the other end. Wow. I'm going to have to wear earplugs for this entire trip so I don't start pouncetackling people just for saying hello. Seriously. How do y'all in Oz and NZ manage not to die of squee just hearing the pretty all around you?

I guess I'll find out on Sunday. Okay, not Sunday because it's like the longest flight in existence so Tuesday. Holy crap. o.O Time has just gone.

edit: And okay, now I'm freaking because the e-ticket I have says UNTICKETED - NOT VALID FOR TRAVEL and they haven't emailed me a new ticket even though the Lady With the Lovely Accent told me it's now all fine and sorted. Which means I will be panicking right up until I get to NZ that I'll step on the bus for the first leg of my trip, hand my UNTICKETED print-out to the driver and he'll promptly kick me off.

Or I could just call into the Magic Traveller's office the day I'm spending hanging out in Auckland. Actually I have to call them anyway, because I have to book the first bus trip since it's the only one I won't be able to book with the driver.

Alright, so it'll probably be fine. Yeah. Just- there should be less stress. I'm flinging money at you people already! The least you could do is be competent in taking it!

But in all seriousness? We don't think of ourselves as having an accent. As for the NZ accent, it's basically the same... but those little differences tend to be a basis for mockery rather than squeee.

I don't have an accent! (though I was told not so long ago that I 'sound American' and it's like no, I just watch too much American TV). YOU HAVE REALLY AWESOME ACCENTS. :D

Ah, the mocking the little differences. The North Welsh mock the South Welsh and we all join together to mock the stuffy English. ;-) Where would we be without mostly-affectionate mockage? ^_^ (And you do have really awesome accents, even if I don't understand half your Australianisms. ^_^)

The NZ (or Kiwi :P) accent is so similar to ours that there's only a few little differences.. but the one that brings delight to schoolkids and the immature everywhere... ah, but I won't ruin the fun. :P

I agree, Kiwi accents are gorgeous. Also, I have this weird, I dunno... talent I guess that if I spent large amount sof tiem in the company of someone who has an accent I pick it up unconciously. A few years ago I spent 3 days with a friend from NZ and got teased by Dad for speaking like a Kiwi.

I'll probably end up with your accent after easter. :P

I'm so excited about going there now, just to hear the pretty accent everywhere. ^_^ Heh, I still have no idea what my random mishmash-accent of Welsh/English/American TV sounds like, so hopefully you'll pick it up so I can hear what I sound like! :) Hopefully I'll add Australian and Kiwi to the mix just to really confuse everyone!
