Thank whatever-god it's Friday.
Dec. 12th, 2008 06:52 pmSo maybe I just bought a Playstation 2. After months and months of flailing indecisively at the Amazon page.
But. In my defense I spent the entire day trying not to kill the world's Most Annoying Colleague. I was getting really pissed off by the afternoon though, cueing the following conversation (all of her conversations will start as a comment on another conversation she's just had with someone, that you didn't hear but she expects you to know the details of anyway):
Most Annoying Colleague: It's difficult isn't it.
Me: What's difficult Gill?
MAC: Buying the land.
Me: *twitches* Buying the land for what Gill?
MAC: For cemetaries you know.
Me: Is it?
MAC: Well it has to not have been used for anything else doesn't it?
Me: *twitches more* Really?
MAC: Nothing can've been built on it...
Me: ...I suppose they don't want to bury people in contaminated land. There could be chemicals that make them rise as zombies.
MAC: No-
Me: Which admittedly would be cool.
MAC: No, it has to be consecrated doesn't it?
Me: ...Unless you're a witch.
At which point the phone rang and she went to answer it, which was lucky because I was getting desperate. She is religious of the does-after-work-activities-with-the-church but she also has a habit of ignoring everything you say that she doesn't understand or can't seem to process, so I suspect I'd have actually had to invent a passion for gravedigging to get her to stop talking. And that was my entire day because my two other work colleagues went home early. I think I deserve a Playstation 2 after that.
Now I am not going to look at prices for Final Fantasy X. I am not going to look at prices for...

Date: 2008-12-15 09:02 pm (UTC)I'm pretty sure I cried at FFVIII, though it was a while ago since I played it; I know the Laguna/Raine storyline breaks my heart every time. It's no more terrible than crying over a book and I do that all the time. *shame*

Date: 2008-12-15 09:36 pm (UTC)When I worked in Waterstone's last Christmas, my boss would sit in the staff room and talk about her Zombie Apocalypse Survival plan. It was awesome. Sadly people where I work now are less awesome and just think I'm odd. Clearly bookshops = superior to all.
(Also, while I remember the Balthier action figure is only £5 on play.com right now. I've never played XII and even I'm tempted by him; the FF figures are so amaizngly pretty.)
