I MAY ACTUALLY DIE WITH HAVING TO WAIT AN ENTIRE WEEK FOR THE FINAL EPISODE.

OH MY GOD.

OH MY GOD.

...

OH MY GOD.

eta:. Okay I have to admire the guts it took to destroy that Rose/Ten reunion. I do. I am a lover and believer in the Joss Whedon school of "Give them a moment of happy then destroy their lives." The worst thing in the world is allowing characters to achieve their happiness and then let them keep it.

But this is Ten/Rose. They never got their happy moment. THEY DIDN'T EVEN GET THEIR FREAKING HUG. You have to show us concrete proof of the happiness before you take it away. You have to let them hug, let them kiss, let Buffy and Angel have their one night of happiness to hold it up as something to treasure in the chaotic aftermath, as something to cling to when the world turns around and says "Actually, I think not". All we've had for the entire season is a promise of that happiness, the assurance of its inevitability and to snatch it away before it ever materialised isn't good storytelling unless you can give us something afterward that fills the emptiness left behind by broken promises.

In short, I don't care what you do with David Tennant after next week. I don't care if you've been lying to us like bastards all year about him coming back (even though I do, because I can get behind ambiguity and sidesteps of the truth with all the love of one who hates spoilers, but I have a vehement dislike of outright lying to fans for the sake of a shocking cliffhanger, because that's not clever storytelling. It's exploiting our investment in the characters for the sake of giving you a giggle at our reactions. Shock us through the show, not by manipulating us through the press. Wankers.) Kill him, turn him into a Dalek, have Rose marry Donna and skip merrily away into the sunset with Jack as their rentboy but give Rose and Ten that moment. Tie up that storyline properly.

Also, plz do not be killing Sarah-Jane. I love her and would love to see her, Rose and Donna get together. Also also, you can vaporise Martha anytime. That's another promise you made to us in this episode only to brush it aside with timey-wimey-handwavey skience. Hate hate hate.

Also also ALSO. Everyone declaiming Jack as a bastard for running off to the Doctor at the moment when Gwen and Ianto were about to be killed? Remember firstly that they did not tell him that the Daleks had found them and were coming. He doesn't know. Secondly, he can nothing trapped at the Hub; with the Doctor, together, there's a real possibility that all of them will save the world but it'll be dangerous. Dangerous for anyone who does not have infinite lives. Jack probably assumes Gwen and Ianto will be far safer in the Hub than doing whatever the Doctor will come up with.

That said, have you been watching Jack for the past few seasons of 'Who and Torchwood? He's practically a sad poster boy for what happens when "look before you leap" is ignored. I just really really hope that doesn't come back to bite him with a dead Ianto, who was as awesome in 'Who as he is in Torchwood.

...It can bite him with a dead Gwen, even though she didn't irritate me hardly at all tonight. But then Torchwood will just be Jack and Ianto and that's just ridiculous.

...Wait, what am I saying? A Torchwood of just Jack and Ianto would be SURPREME AWESOMENESS. Harkness and Jones: Saviors of Cardiff! Masters of Quips! Very Good in Bed! I would watch that series with much glee. As would much of the female population of Britain I think.

I'm really kind of dumbstruck by this episode. There was too much Martha but Rose's commentary over the laptop-subwave scene was awesome. And Harriet Jones! I love her so much. The Daleks saying "Yes WE KNOW WHO YOU ARE" was a hilarious, fitting final note for a character who really was something special. And Donna and Jack over the subwave!! *hearts*

But finally, I thought we'd lose Donna next week. Now I don't know if we're going to lose her AND The Tennant. I don't know if I could handle that all at once. I don't know where they'd take it. I don't know where they'll take it if we really are losing Ten-inch for Eleven.

But dammit. Ten/Rose. Give us that moment or I will lose the faith I've had in the awesome of this series, because it was all built on empty promises. Cheap, Russell T. Very cheap.

...Am so confused.

eta the confused the second: Also x ten, I thought the Daleks Supah-Sekrit Lazers killed you instantly? For some reason I also thought the Doctor couldn't regenerate from them. Clearly I was wrong but huh?

And I can't help thinking of Rise of the Cybermen back in season two, when a simple power cell suddenly became AN ALL-POWERFUL WEAPON OF DESTRUCTION!!!!eleventy-one!! for the sake an exciting cliffhanger. Russell T has proven his love for cliffhangers and also his lack of ability to get out them with anything approaching credibility. While I'm not entirely sure even he could stop a regeneration with timey-wimey-handwaving skience stuff and still be able to face himself in the mirror, I would not be surprised if that's what we get. But I'm not sure if I would be more disappointed by that than I would be by losing Ten-inch so unexpectedly.

...In short, take a failcard whatever happens RTD. Unless you do something really, really clever and then I will eat my words with BBQ sauce.

I HAVE NO IDEA. I AM SO CONFUSED.

But it's been confirmed that he's doing the next two years. They rearranged next year around his schedule for Hamlet!! Unless this has all been the most elaborate lie ever, I cannot see this actually happening. I am so confused.

Also no happy Rose/Ten reunion. :( *bitter*

He has a twin! That works in soaps, it'll work here! The Doctor has a twin, you heard it here first.

XD

*sporfles* It's insanely appropriate that I'm reading The Prestige right now, which uses exactly that idea. It's totally believable! Honest! Twin Ten-Inch is waiting in the TARDIS, ready to leap out next week!

>>Shock us through the show, not by manipulating us through the press. Wankers.)<<

I'm an evil, evil person who would love it if they've been lying. But see previous statement in regards to my evilness.

I think Jack had to have heard that the Daleks were coming, but I imagine he would have gone anyway, if only to go take bullets for the rescuers.

Some of us are rather looking forward to eleven, but that's mostly because we don't like ten.

Re: the power of the Dalek weaponary - it varies depending on the story and what the writer is up to. I wish I were joking - Dr. Who, making Marvel look consistent since 1963.

If they've been lying all season it's just like... I just feel like they've been telling us all these things and having a little snigger behind our backs when we believe them. If they've been hinting all season that they're about to kill Donna but kill Rose instead (which is where I'm putting my money tonight), that's misdirection and it's clever. Giving us all these articles about Tennant being confirmed to come back if they knew that he wasn't? It's not clever, it's just lying to the fans. Do they not have enough faith in the show to be interesting anyway? It just feels a cheap way to get a shock, to me.

Seriously, I watched the episode back and not only was he on the phone to Martha but he'd already run past before Ianto said they were coming. Then Gwen and Ianto just nodded and said they'd be fine when he was all bubbly about teleporting. He really doesn't know. I think he would've gone anyway but he might've tried harder to take them with him.

I'm all for change, except I think there are lingering issues with Ten that they haven't tied up yet. *sadness* Nine's regeneration was awesomely timed; I think Ten's, if they carry if through tonight, is a bit of a waste.

Ah. -_- There I go expecting Dr Who skience to make sense again.
