I'm stunned. I thought most people agreed that Jessie could've been really spectacular in this part but I just looked at nancy_or_oliver for the first time and no one there seemed to like her at all. I like Jodie, she's lovely; I just think she won't be remarkable as Nancy. I think she needs to play someone older to really shine.
I'm just- blank with disbelief. Oh well. Guess I'll buy tickets for whatever Jessie does next instead.
See, I like Jodie's voice; I think it's interesting but it very definitely sounds like a mature woman's voice. For me Nancy's meant to be on the younger side, so that He Needs Me will read like a defiant declaration of love rather than an older woman at the end of her tether, with nowhere else to go. I thought it meant more that way. And exactly! They went on and on about wanting a Nancy. What's the point in doing something again if you're going to do it exactly the same every time?
I think Jodie will be a good, solid Nancy and won't have a bad show like Jessie might've done here and there, but I think when Jessie was on top form she would've been spectacular. For me I'd rather have uncertain brilliance than solid, dependable plodding along night after night. The musical's going to make money regardless; better to take the chance on Jessie. Oh well. I'm sure she'll be spectacular in something else.
See, I didn't like Samantha but Rachel grew on me a lot over the series. Maybe we should just agree Rachel should've won. ^_^ You're the first person I've heard say they didn't like Jodie though; I'm really surprised at how much the whole world seemed to be supporting her without me noticing. It's weird.
Well, I'm not familiar with that musical, so I don't know much about Nancy, but I liked Samantha because I thought she could sing and act well, but they all sort of has the same problem of the same facial expression over and over. But yeah, Rachel, my home girl. She's like the only person from over here whose got this far in anything for a long time.... except for Ash. Who I don't like but used to go to my school... ANYWAY, rambling. We'll stick with Rachel.
And I've heard things about Jodie that made me dislike her. I take it you're not too fond of her either?
