Dear LJ,

I really don't appreciate you automatically changing my settings so my flist appears as a bunch of LJ-cuts. I really, really don't appreciate you making me jump through hoops to discover what I need to do to fix it and I really, really, really don't appreciate you forcing me to put my birth year in so I can view my own sodding flist properly.

You fail at life LJ. You do. And when my paid account expires in January, I'm going to be looking at that move to IJ as more than just a passing whim. It's more a case of me needing to be talked out of it at this point, because you're really pissing me off.

It's a good thing I got paid today; it put me in a good mood and I don't mind being forced to faff with my LJ settings so much. I just wish they'd stop adding all these unnecessary roadblocks when all I want is to carry on using LJ as normal.

But I did get paid today and I got the second series of BSG AND I had a good day AND I think I've pretty much convinced the mother to cook goose for Christmas dinner instead of turkey, so it's good news all round, mostly. Less good news is that I have two days left to work before my day off and it's the kids' Christmas party tomorrow which means lots of screaming and having to turn sensible customers away from the kids' section for an hour tomorrow. Sigh. But more Battlestar. Yay!

The only problem I have is that literally, half my flist is people I know in RL who don't care about LJ's shenanigans. I'm trying to post to my wordpress blogs more (and succeeding!) but I'm probably on LJ for good, blerr. Although my paid account doesn't run out until June, so I don't really have to worry about reverting anytime soon...

But I've got a permanent account on IJ anyway, so I'm over THERE for good :)

That's what's stopping me; most of my flist has no plans to move and all the communities I follow are here too. It'd take something major to make them consider moving. I wish my paid account would last longer but it's looking like I'll be hanging around with a free account. I really don't want to give LJ any more money at this point.

When I get paid the end of this week, I think I'll be getting a permanent account on IJ too. :) It's my favourite of the other options.

Definite yay! Though there hasn't been enough Starbuck in the first few episodes of BSG's second series. *sadface*

Join BSG! Join BSG! Needs more action! :) Seriously, fandom communities on IJ are *too quiet* because everyone's so complacent here. IJ will be what we make of it, you know?

The only thing stopping me joining anything BSG-related right now is worrying about spoilers because I'm so far behind. I'll have covered the first three series by January and I promise to join then. :D So far it's awesome; resisting anything that might lead me to spoilers, especially fic, is really annoying. If you have any recs for the first/second season...

I know what you mean. Getting a permanent account might be just what I need to make myself more at home over there.

BSG IS THE MOST AWESOME THING EVER. w00t! :) Unfortunately I don't have any fic recs, I haven't gotten into fic that much (I did a little bit last summer, but never came across anything fabulous.) There's a seperate bsg_fic community though.

Heh maybe I'll join now then. It'll be there for when I've watched enough to go squeeing all over the 'net without worrying about spoilers.

IT REALLY IS. I was worried it'd be an anticlimax after all the good things people've been saying but it's fantastic. No fic recs is fine - I'm kinda looking forward to going on a fic binge when I've watched enough. :)

BTW, you know Razor doesn't have any S3 spoilers, right? So you can watch that right after S2, then watch S3.
