...Someone explain to me why I've just spent the last fifteen minutes intently contemplating doing a French and/or German AS/A-level, just so I can go teach English in Switzerland. No, really. Please explain because all I'm coming up with right now is that I am out of my mind.
Isn't looking like I could do it part-time or evening class anyway, and I can't see the 'rents letting me sit around without a job for another year or two. Why don't they run AS/A-level evening classes for languages? It's not entirely implausible that people with jobs might also want some more A-levels you know.
I'm kind of kicking myself for doing Pysch for AS instead of a language now. Stupid high school for making me hate languages by being crap. Dammit.
Side note: apparently my college's A-level in Classical Civ now includes submitting a 3000 word essay. I'd swear we didn't do that. Surely I would've died with that on top of Media's music video. Huh.
~
Now totally unrelated note: TOP GEAR! SNARK! HAMSTER'S NECKLACE&TOUSLED HAIR LOOK! UNEXPECTED NEKKID!JAMES! JEREMY INSULTING THE ENTIRE WORLD WHILE HAMSTER FLAILS INEFFECTUALLY! = me ded from squee. It's back. Life is awesome.
I did think that maybe they would've picked one of the more insane films from this series to kick it off - for those of you who might remain (miraculously; have you been living under a rock?) unspoiled I won't be specific but trust me, there are more insane things to come. As awesome as the lightweight supercars were, it didn't seem quite as well structured as TG films usually are and less dedicated people than me (ahem, my mother asleep on the sofa) might've lost interest. That said, it was pretty wasn't it? And this way means we have all the insane stuff still to come.
Also, I hope they fix a new cool wall. I had sadness when I realised we really weren't going to get a round of Jeremy vs Richard arguing over their completely pointless and arbitrary and hilarious system of judging cool. Though it was worth is getting reduced to smouldering wreckage to (a) see them sitting on those chairs and (b) hear Jeremy insistently blaming Fifth Gear.TV would be far more interesting if we had more Clarkson-esque presenters.
Yay for a weekend of great TV! It almost makes up for the fact I have to go sign on tomorrow. Again. Really, it's getting old quick now. I should probably start putting more time and effort into this job thing.

Date: 2007-10-08 09:37 am (UTC)TOP GEAR SO AWESOME. I loved the cars, they were just so, so pretty and really, I loved that Jeremy was so wrong about finding the good roads and Hamster was right and they both ignored James for *picking the wrong car*. It was so Top Gear and the seats and blaming Fifth Gear and they just KEPT DOING IT. I was in a world of shiny awesome.
