So if a guy can have a 'man crush' on a guy (thank you for the terminology Edgar Wright), would a girl's crush on a girl be a 'girl crush'? Because it just doesn't sound as good. And don't even suggest 'woman crush' because that's even worse.

Also I have now personally bought three copies of Hot Fuzz this week and convinced at least one other person to buy one. This should not make me as proud as it does.

I reckon 'lady crush' sort of works, as at least then it goes with the phrase 'lady love.' To try it in a sentance:

Helen was very pleased when her lady crush turned into some passionate lady love.

Yes! That's it. 'Man crush' is funny because 'crush' is in no way manly; girl crush isn't funny because a crush is totally girly, so it might as well just be'crush'. Lady is plenty un-crushlike enough to make for the funny combination. *hands you a cookie for working it out*

Sorry about that. I was very, very tired and making no sense on any level, except the previous idea. I have to stop only coming online after I've gone to bed, and especially after work. It's why I haven't posted fr ages either.

Oh, and it was all the user pics of people who'd left comments that were messed up. like when a printer misses a line. It's only on stupid DS's though. Looks fine on Mac (using Firefox).

Girl-crush seems to be the modern day word for that. The only variant I've ever heard is 'a pash' and that's from the '50s.

It does seem to be and it's sad that guys get the funnier name (because I still maintain that man-crush is funnier.) I haven't heard 'a pash' before, mmm. I love crazy words for things.
