Apr. 25th, 2007 09:44 pmAm slightly confused as to the new HP cover has a Stargate on it. Though having come to realise just how many stereotypes and nicked things are in the damn books over the last week, I'm not sure I'd be surprised if a Stargate did show up.
Haven't started last section yet. Vaguely worried about this. Have a good 2,500 words left and then editing. Sleep? Dinner? What are these things? Though
hill2k just told me his dissertation's in tomorrow too and he'll probably be up all night, so there'll no doubt be madly stressed texting going on.
An all-nighter looks such a strange prospect from 10pm before it. You know you're going to have to glue yourself to the screen with eyes that itch and a head that feels twice the size and stuffed with cotton wool in a few hours, but now you're fine.
Maybe I should go write that last section before I get to that stage then. I certainly have enough editing to do after. *woe*
edit: Quick question: is there a book out there beside Gregory Maguire's Wicked that tells a story from the 'bad guy's' POV? Or film or anything?
edit the one with the mwahahaha: Just like to point out that current overall word count stands at 10,024 words. Even though Im only a quarter of the way through the final section. Still, I've at least made the word limit if it all goes horribly wrong *touches wood!*

As for 'bad guy' POV books, well, one fantasy book which I've read which makes a *really* good case for the villain is Tigana by Guy Gavriel Kay. If you haven't heard of him I seriously recommend his books. Without giving too much away, the chapters of Tigana that I'm thinking of aren't told from the villain's actual POV, but from someone close to him who ... well, it's too much to explain properly without seriously spoiling the plot, but I recommend it. :)
