I love the Star Wars theme. It's so hilariously melodramatic. Unfortunately watching The Empire Strikes Back hasn't helped me get any work done at all but eh. Star Wars is more fun than work.

Watching the original three reminded me of an argument debate I had with [livejournal.com profile] rainy_roz a while back though;; is it better to watch IV-V-VI-I-II-III or I-II-III-IV-V-VI? I said IV-V-VI-I-II-III because that's the order they were presented to the world and you get to spend The Phantom Menace distracting yourself from The Terrible and murderous thoughts at Jar Jar Binks with the cool knowledge that this little kid is going to lay the smack down on the entire galaxy soon. But now I'm kind of seeing [livejournal.com profile] rainy_roz's point of it being fun to watch the story develop linearly.

This of course is solvable in only one way; I watch all six back to back in one order and then all six again in the other order. I can't think of any better way to waste spend my time. In the summer. Since I actually have to do some work today.

It is bugging me that I'm spending half the time CGI-replacement spotting though. Thinking I might watch the original version of Jedi instead of the remastered one.

I'd go with your way. That way if you feel the urge to commit suicide halfway through Phantom Menace you haven't missed the good films.

Thank God for Liam Neeson and Ewan McGregor, for at least they can act.

Yeah, I think 'you really want to start with Phantom Menace?' was one of my arguments for doing it my way.

Liam Neeson and Ewan McGregor are my only reason for rewatching that film because they are fantastic and look amazingly hot with lightsabers. Also Liam Neeson's voice should be named one of the Wonders of the world. It's like auditory sex.

i think it's all a matter of how YOU were presented the movies. i personally will say 456123 until the day i die, but i'm sure there are little kids now who will grow up thinking 123456.

but honestly, the argument [for me] is thusly: you can either sit through 3 movies knowing that you're gonna see 3 better ones next, OR you can watch the 3 amazing ones and then the amazingness of those 3 will give you the willpower to sit through the next 3.

in conclusion, han solo is my boyfriend.

My only problem with the prequels is I get bugged by inconsistencies with the EU novels that I'd read before the movies were made. *blushes*

I got into an argument abut this with uni friends once who couldn't understand the concept of watching them out of numerical orders. Some people shouldn't be allowed to watch films.

Spiderman 3!!!! :)
