So. Acusatory-Hoodie Fresher broke her phone yesterday. This fact becomes important when I add that she does not own a watch, a computer, a TV or any other form of telling the time.

Add to this the fact that she is completely and utterly insane worries way more about missing seminars and lectures than is normal for a first year and you get the frantic knock at my door that just happened.

Usually I won't answer my door if I'm in bed (and it's at a reasonable time for someone to be asleep, though I usually won't answer if I'm having a nap either.) Not really sure what made me get up this time, only I was awake anyway and I'd gone to bed early (for me) and I was feeling charitable. So, I rolled out of bed and staggered blindly to the door.

To be greeted with a almost-hyperventilating fresher, saying she thinks she'd overslept -- (by the way, I just looked out the window and THE SUN IS STILL RISING, WTF) -- and missed her seminar and she was panicking and stresstresstress. And I was there saying breathe and look, they honestly do not care if you miss one seminar, they wouldn't care if you missed five or six, just email your tutor and say sorry or hell, just turn up next week and they won't even notice. So she started to calm down, and then asked tearfully if it was about 11am or so, to which I offered to lend her one of my watches (this early morning vengence was clearly because I hadn't thought to do it yesterday when she first told me of the phone breakage.)

And closer inspection of the watch -- both watches, because she didn't quite believe it -- proved it was half eight and her seminar wasn't until nine, so she hadn't missed it after all.

I-- I am so not awake enough to be hugged by a tearfully grateful Christian. Really. What is with our freshers this year? First opening the door to K holding out a hand dripping with blood and now this. At least Surly Fresher has her minions (she really does have real, proper minions but that's another LJ tale) so she turns to them first.

And now, I am so going back to bed. Cannot cope with more surprises.

Question............ what exactly did her crying to you accomplish? If I thought I'd overselpt for something I *wanted* to go to, I'd put some shoes on and sprint out the door, only stopping to worry if I'd changed out of my pajamas once arriving at said destination. I wouldn't go waking people up to cry about it. Especially not at ass o'clock in the morning when normal people are still hibernating!

I... I honestly have no idea. She isn't exactly the most sensible of people and she panics like crazy over things, so she was probably thinking she'd be kicked out of uni for missing a seminar (though I've told her a hundred times it's first year and really, no one cares.)

Once, I'm okay with. If she started to make a habit of it, then I'd get mad. ;-)

*cracks up* Awesome! And very, very appropriate for Fresher-with-Minions (she gets them to do her shopping for her and everything. o_O)

Bloody hell. Does she have magical powers?

Are we still on for coffee at The Venue this afternoon?

I'm starting to think she might, since I've pretty much ruled out sexual favours and drugging them. I feel quite sorry for them, because they're quite nice and getting totally taken advantage of.

Definitely! 2pm right? :)

Poor things. Rescue them! Keep them in your wardrobe.

Yep, that's right.

Everytime I think of stuffing them in my wardrobe, I crack up. I can just see them all crammed in on top of my shoes. *giggles*

Very early. >_< S'unnatural time to be awake in my opinion. ;)

Sweet Jesus. Times like this make me glad I don't live in dorms, though I'm not sure what they are called in the UK.

*Hugs*
