The littlest things.
Jan. 7th, 2007 12:35 pmHustle trick of 'borrowing' a hotel suite for the length of a series like they did in series one and two has bugged me for a while. So far idle research is turning up a maximum of three bedrooms per suite in luxury London hotels, which puts two people either on the sofa or in a different room. Except in series one, where Danny's got somewhere to 'go home' to but I think that implication's pretty much definitely gone by the start of the second series.
What a thing to get annoyed about; specifics of fictional hotel suites. *does the Ben Affleck wavy-hand gesture from Jay & Silent Bob* Fictional characters Clo. Get over it.
Still. It bugs me. Because clearly Danny as the baby would be one of the ones stuck on the sofa and maybe... Ash, I guess. Though Ash works harder than any of them, so that's kind of unfair. But then, I can't see Stacie or Albert even *dreaming* of sleeping on the sofa, which leaves Mickey and hah, like he'd get stuckwith Danny on the sofa.
Mmmmm. Ponder ponder. We're ignoring how I'm not dressed and not doing any work yet, in order to spend time researching five star hotels I will never be able to afford to stay in to prove something about their fictional counterparts in a TV show.
... Shutup. ;)
edit: Just rewatching a bit of the first episode of the second series for capping purposes (essay? what?) and for the first time I noticed Mickey blows on Danny's ear to get his attention. Not taps him on the shoulder, not saying his name, not clearing his throat; he leans in and blows on his ear as if it's the most natural thing in the world.
You know, I couldn't see this pairing until recently. Just couldn't. I'm starting to wonder if I was even *watching*.

Quick comment fic
Date: 2007-01-10 12:39 am (UTC)Apparently it wasn't very. That was roughly when Danny caught on. Albert was disappearing off into the master bedroom too, while Stacie was definitely moving towards the second bedroom. It was supposed to be the kid's room, since they'd hired a family suite to fit all their stuff in, but at least it had a bed.
"C'mon Ash!"
"You can't ask me to sleep on the sofa, Danny, not with my bad back." Danny wasn't going to ask Albert, and Stacie just shot him one of her 'you must be kidding me' looks before he even got to ask her.
He knew when he'd been beaten.
He sat down on the sofa next to Mickey. "Looks like I'm bedding down with you then."
