Dec. 11th, 2006 11:28 pmDear Torchwood,
You just lost all the ground you gained with me after last week's great episode. Seriously. What were you thinking?
...Morons. Go watch some Buffy and get a clue.
No love at all and there never, ever will be unless you get some bloody consistency,
Clo
I'm so disappointed. I thought last week marked the start of beautiful new things and awesomeness and possibly Jack/Ianto shagging on Jack's desk but nope, we got bloody stupid again. There just wasn't enough empathy with whathisname for the plot to even begin to work.
I don't get how Doctor Who can have so many utterly fantastic fanfic writers and yet its spin-off show seems to be written by untrained monkeys. It isn't like they don't have enough great writers to go around. Hire
svilleficrecs or
misscam or
centaurea_m or *anyone*, any of the million and one fic writers who can write better than this in the Who 'verse. Hell,
seperis said she was watching the other day and she's perhaps one of the best writers on *the entire internet*, so why the hell are you giving the writing jobs to people who clearly couldn't tell character development apart from a lump of coal even if you drew them a neatly labelled diagram?
I keep on thinking just one more week, just one more episode and they'll get it because honestly, when I can enjoy a fic more than I enjoy the show itself? *Much* more, as in I'd rather read a fic than watch the show? You are seriously screwing up somewhere along the line. Not that I've read any Torchwood-specific fic yet because frankly, the show hasn't been good enough for me to want to but it isn't as if they'd be lacking in the fantastic writers department if they threw the writing open to the internet at large, given how many great writers there are around in the Who 'verse -- and when you're the flagship show of BBC Three, you should find having countless fans who could surpass your writing team in talent more than a little depressing. As in, enough to DO SOMETHING about it.
... That was a rant. Um. Sorry. I think I've been suppressing my rage over the ruins of this show I've been ready to love to pieces for months.
edit: Oh and right now, Robin Hood pwns you. Be ashamed.
