Taking my life in my hands.
Sep. 27th, 2006 12:22 pmCan't remember the name of the girl who usually cuts my hair (in my defence I only go about twice a year and last time I had someone different. Whose name I also can't remember) so I'm going and hoping it doesn't turn out terrible because I'd have to cut it myself again. There are no words for how depressing it is to pay that much for a haircut only to get home and spend an hour in front of the mirror with scissors trying to fix it. Least I won't get yelled at for using henna this time, since I haven't done it for about six months or more. Something else to fix when I'm back in Lancaster with a shower that's *actually* worth a damn.
Counting. The. Minutes. In three days, I'll be *there* and dammit, three days is way too long.
I'm sad that the news of Hamster has ended up on fandom_wank. Aside from the journalist asshats, the vast majority of people who've donated and sent emails and shared news have been generally fantastic and given the BBC a massive reason *not* to cancel Top Gear. The people saying he deserved it, well. We can only hope they don't breed and perpetuate their unusual levels of callous stupidity.
Yeah, I need to stop wanting to hit people through the computer. Firmly established before that it doesn't work. Dammit.
Moving off Hamster for a moment (...I'm clearly relaxing a little if I can type that grinning while reading a Top Gear slash-pairing war), watched Raw last night. In between a couple of things I blanked completely out of boredom, sort-of-kind-of-found-myself grinning like a nut over DX. A *lot*. As much as seeing top-card Edge is still incredibly weird, warming to Cena and I found it hilarious that I'd literally just wondered what happened to Eugene when he wandered onscreen.
I liked Triple H. This does not happen. *Ever*.
So I'm wondering what it would take to get the 'rents to DVD it for me every week and whether it'd be worth the effort, which it might be if only for the sheer amount of DX awesomeness. Think I'll definitely beg for that reunion special thing that's on in a couple of weeks because they said Undertaker and I just about fell off the sofa. I'll get a lot of whining over it but DX? Worth it.
Oddly enough, this is around the same time of year I originally got into wrestling into 2000, maybe a bit earlier. Think it's something to do with autumn or maybe just that Survivor Series was so much fun that year that it hooked me in. Mmmmm.
Still missBlondie Jericho though. Sigh.
edit: Oh and to everyone yelling on about "THE SKY IS FALLING!!!!!eleventy-one!1!" "Top Gear encourages speeding OMG!", I would like to point out that I personally *don't* drive, when I was having lessons I had to be practically *bribed* to go over 50mph on the motorway and even though I dream of owning a Porsche 911, the damn thing will probably never go over 65mph in its life. Yet I love Top Gear, possibly more than anything else on TV.
Are you seeing the flaws in your logic here?

Date: 2006-09-27 07:08 pm (UTC)I miss the original Survivor Series format though. Which you probably don't remember and/or don't know about. Instead of just like one match a night where it was four on four last man on whichever team to win wins, it was ALL like that. I miss those matches. They were fun. ANd some very creative foursomes.
Jericho being gone is heartbreaking. And I just found out that Benoit's out too? And also that Trish "retired"? Dude! Where have I been??
And people who say that Top Gear encourages speeding? Bull. If someone's going to speed, they'll do it without encouragement, not with. I hate people who blame television for people doing stupid things.
