Sore throat. Aside from this being a half-forgotten experience for me -- haven't had a cold or coldlike symptoms for...well, a long while -- it's painful. My mother's helpful contribution was to pour whiskey into my mug of tea. Uncertain as to what exactly this was meant to achieve but hey, excuse for whiskey at 9am. Not complaining. If we had any Jack Daniel's I'd probably be on a second cup right about now.
Dammit, I hate being ill. Worse is that I can't work out where I might've got it. Cinema maybe, or that small demonic child who cackled behind me on the bus all the way into town the other day. I thought she was asthmatic but maybe it was a cold.
Which confirms my long-held belief that small children are, in fact, small demons in human form. One day I will own a town and instead of "No Dogs" signs, there'll be "No children" signs on every shop. Ah. Thing of beauty.
