New fish tank of Awesomeness acquired. Worried all the way home about it being big enough, stood it next to the Muppets's current tank and went "..." at myself, because it's gigantic. They're going to think they've won the lottery. Am a little twitchy about possible future leaks with the way it's put together but I have woe for my cramped fish right now. They've got fat the greedy bastards grown a lot in two years and they really need the extra room with Kermit in there too. Now I just have to fill it and let it stand and sigh for the tedium of waiting.

In other news of today, had to talk myself out of buying the entire children's section of Waterstones. Hungry Caterpillar omglove. Also squeed a lot when I found my favourite book from my childhood that my brother and me made our parents read to us every. Single. Night. for about three years each. Which means Merc is totally getting a copy sometime. ;) She's on the other side of the world and can't kill me when Tristan insists on taking ten minutes to find Goldbug on every page. And there are many pages.

I choose these presents with love. Really. ;)

Oh I have to get rid of my Wimbledon icons. :( Sad now.

Get him The Giving Tree. It's the most awesome game ever.

*grins* It's on the list but nothing beats Cars and Trucks and Things That Go for sheer awesomeness. Though, the Very Hungry Caterpillar comes extremely close.

It really is and every time I go in to buy kid's books from now on, I'm going to have to stop myself buying a copy. It never gets old, even when you're twenty.

I'll have no Wimbledon posts or not many, until next year now though. *wistful*

You know what? It doesn't matter. I am detirmined to give that boy a love of books and reading. I am currently reading to him every day... the down side being that we have two books for him. Variety is a good thing.

But also something to keep in mind - I have a long memory and a vindictive streak.,

*giggles* That's very good, because I was walking round the children's book section yesterday muttering "And he'll need to read that and that and ohmygodCall of the Wild, how old will he have to be before I can send that?" I think I've pretty much decided his christmas and birthday presents for the next twenty years. ;) Buying books is fun. (What've you got already? Because I can totally see me sending duplicates of *everything*. ^_^)

... This is very true. However, for the chance to share the bestest book ever I'll risk it. ;) You might even find it fun to read the first twenty million times through. After that... well. How *much* do you like reading to him? ;)
