Yep, I had to let my inner fangirl loose for a sec there. But Wolverine in fight mode..... ah, *that's what I like to see! Now, down to businness:

Nightcrawler *rocks*! He does. Definitely not what I'd expected from the Evo Kurt, but I liked the way they handled his teleporting and his character. *applauds* Yey! Go Nightcrawler!

I was amazed by the lack of Scott in this movie. tehre in the beginning, there in the end, bbiiiiiiiiiiigg patch in the middle when he was hardly mentioned. But the delicious slashiness of the end *more* than made up for it. I can imagine how many Logan/Scott X2 fics are in the works right now. Bring 'em on!

I like Rogue/Bobby, it doesn't bother me as much as I thought it would. I'll first and foremost always be a Rogue/Logan shipper though. Hell yes.

Mystique kicked ass in this film, although possibly they stretched the plausible limits of her character with the stuff she did. A shapeshifting mutant who's marvellously intelligent and also a computer whiz? But still, she was fun and the way she helped Magneto escape was fantastic.

There were certain things I wasn't sure about in the film. The myriad storylines, while interesting and not dramatically difficult to follow, meant the film didn't appear to have a solid plotline, therefore the final fights came as something of an anticlimax. Disappointed that whatshername - the girl with the nails - didn't play a big part 'til the end, would have been nice to have a feud built up between her and Wolverine, sort of like there was with Sabertooth in X1. I think some scenes should have been lengthened while others should have been cut; I certainly would have drawn out the Scott/Jean fight longer and the conclusion to the Wolverine/whatshername fight was so obvious it was unbelievable. Still. Minor quibbles.

MAJOR MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD!

Ok, they 'killed' off Jean (which doesn't bother me; paves the way for Scott/Logan beautifully) but it made me remeber an X-Men cartoon I'd seen years ago - about Jean turning into a Phoenix? Well I was utterly *positive* that at the last few seconds of the film, when the camera skims over the lake, a phoenix was going to come busting out the water and frankly, that's what I would have done. Maybe they want to set up things for X3; maybe they wanted to leave the audience stunned at the 'death' of an X-Man/Woman but I still think they could have left us hanging on the phoenix bursting out the water. Nerh.

So this movie wouldn't make it to my top-ten list. But would I go and see it again? Porbably. Will I get it on DVD? Hell yes. Will I go on for months about Scott choosing Logoan to cry all over? Without a doubt.

So my rating? Seven and a half out of ten. With an extra point added for Wolverine's jump offf that balcony in the X-mansion. Damned cool.

EDIT: THE CAT RULES! *giggles* Don't you just wanna cuddle him when he licks Wolverine's claws? Ssssoooo sweet!
