Home. Safe, fine, well, all those good things. Trip was one panic after another after I left later than planned, so I got to the station literally a minute before my train left and then one of my trains was nine minutes late which meant my ten-minute-connection gap at the next stop was a bit frantic. But the world seemed to take pity on me when it came to catching a bus for the last bit and I'm home and have been for some time during which I've basically watched Buffy, snuggled Casper a lot, read an entire Doctor Who tie-in novel - god, they really aren't as good as a lot of fanfiction but the words DAVID TENNANT and DON'T CARE come to mind ;) - and spent some quality time wearing the authentic cowboy hat esteemed father bought in Texas for me.

Unfortunately it's black which in the tradition of Hollywood would make me the Evil Cowboygirl but the bad guys get to have the most fun anyway. I'll buy a white one to match when I finally get myself out to Texas and have them hanging side by side on the wall, since I don't have a horse to ride while wearing it and if I did... I probably wouldn't because I'd feel silly.

...Okay so maybe I'd wear it for a little while. To hell with looking silly.

In related being-home news, I LOVE BEING WELSH. I haven't been into town yet so I can't comment on how stupidly overboard the shops have gone and if they're as bad as Lancaster's yet but since getting home, I have yet to see one England flag, one'World Cup' mention (except something about Wayne Rooney's foot on the national news which I turned off) or one dumb marketing gimick. Coming from Lancaster where every other car has an England flag sprouting from the roof now, it's a huge, blissful relief. Wales, I love you with the fire of thousand suns and please never, ever change. I'll take dragons on everything over a plethora of football merchandise any day.

I know I promised I'd answer all comments yesterday but it kind of went by insanely quick and today is doing the same. I don't know, I might take this weekend as a vacation from life. I'm going to have "should be doing [insert something tiring/hard work/involving long distance travelling]" hanging over my head for the next four months. A weekend without thinking about anything will be kind of nice.

:)

Get a donkey, they're cooler! And they'll really bring out your hat!

*giggles* Plus it'd fit in my back garden better than a horse. Though I wouldn't look quite so dashing, ambling away from the Good Guys chasing me on a donkey. ;)

I don't know, fleeing on horse back is so cliché! A Donkey get away is new and exciting. The good guys will be taken by complete surprise when they chage past you on their horses and go straight off a cliff while you admire your hat and stolen booty in peace and quiet. :)
