*sighs* Guy just came to fix my window restrictor. Because apparently having been in this room for two years and not having jumped out, not to mention the fact that I'm twenty-one in October means I still have no right to open my window more than a few inches. I don't give a shit about health and safety; I would willingly sign any forms they want me to stating neither me nor anyone I know will sue the goddamn university if I'm dumb enough to fall out my own window but no, we have to be barred in like bloody children. Let me just go check if our head of college has a restrictor on her office, oh look, no she hasn't. Even though she has the IQ of a six year old, I guess she can be trusted. And you know, we don't actually *have* fire escapes and only one door out to the stairs; if there's a fire on the stairs or down that end of the hall where it's more likely to be because that's where the *kitchen* is then we're all screwed because we can't even open our windows wide enough to jump out. GEE, THANKS.

I begged the guy not to put it on because it worked for S but no such luck. I think I looked so just "Oh for god's sake" that he left it open another inch or so for me, which means I can actually get a breeze through it unlike the kitchen ones but I'm still furious.

However. Having watched him put them on? I now know exactly what it is and how it works and what one would need to do to get rid of it.

Next time my room gets really hot and I'm desperate? Mr Window Restrictor may be having a close encounter with a screwdriver.

edit: Why is everything annoying me more lately? Is it leftover stress or lack of sleep or simply that a lot of annoying things are happening at once? Argh.

*turns up the soothing music and goes to get a cup of tea*

Oooooooh, online money? :p

*giggles* Money that doesn't really feel like you're spending real money because it's just numbers that tick down on your statements. ;) Online money. And I'm not thisclose to spending it on some Doctor Who tie in novels off Amazon because that would be very sad. Really.

BUY PROPER BOOKS!!!! :p

Tie-in novels are never that good anyway :(

I know I should and that most of the tie-in crap is worse than fanfiction but my brain is tired. >_< I want something that's decidedly not Victorian. Tempting. Ssooooo tempting.

I know. *also woes* Sure, what were you thinking of? :) It's okay, I need distractions to stop me spending all my money on things I don't need. ^_^

Go for something completely frivolous then, but make sure it's a decent book :p

*grins* Hey, the tie-in one I was looking at got good reviews! I really shouldn't be spending more money, especially not on things that'll distract me from revision. I'll think about it. ^_^

Which episode? *has way too many* I've got the one from this week but it's biiiiiig. Stupid .mpg files. Got some ones in .avi that might be quicker to upload. It's okay, I have way too much to distract myself with already. ^_^ The bad part of illegal student networks is that it makes finding mindless distractions way too easy.

Excuses, excuses :p I used to read a lot of tie-ins when I was younger...I think it was mainly Buffy and X-Files. Thank God I got most from the library.

*grins* I try to resist but every so often I collapse and *need* something that may just possibly be slightly better than the average fanfiction. If I could get to the local library right now, I'd be there. *shame* ;)

Okay, cool. ^_^ Hmm... I'm terrible with Top Gear series. I've got the one with the Ferrari Enzo, the one with Christian Slater as a guest, the Oslo race, the one with Sir Ranulph Fiennes and the guy parachuting into a car, the one with Hamster in the private jet and Johnny Vegas as the guesst, and the last ep of series seven with the awards and Hamster eating the card that'll take a bit longer to upload because it was DVD-ripped and it's 1GB while everything else is around the 300MB mark. And argh, that's very very tempting. >_< I may have to take you up on that next week when I really have no work to do at all.

You know they're probably going to be crap, but oh...so tempting :p I have some old Buffy ones that were like...free gifts w/ Mizz or something.

Oooooh, all of those are good. I think I have the Oslo race one though, but everything else...Mmmmm, Top Gear. *giggles* I hope the person uploads the rest of the series, because honestly, I've heard so many good things about the mini-series. Makes up for the Earthsea thing that was made being asolute crap.

Oh and I know it's only eight minutes long while being a big as an entire Top Gear at 300+MB but I've got David Tennant's speech from the BAFTAs where he presented the award to R.T.D. too (he's wearing a kilt! *glee*). And all of Casanova if you ever want that. ^_^

BAFTAs yes, Casanova some time in the future. What is it about the Scots? Tennant, McAvoy...mmmm, pretty. Speaking of Tennant, NEXT SATURDAY CAN'T COME SOON ENOUGH!

Okay will do the speech along with the Top Gear. ^_^ Oh wait, I've still got the original link for Casanova which'll be much easier to download from. I have no idea but I love them. ^_^ The accent does funny things to me. AND I KNOW! *bounces impatiently*

I am sad that the new BBC Shakespeare things are uploaded to MU though :( *woes* I really want to see them.

Isn't it awesome? I'm banning myself from so much as thinking about looking into downloading Secret Smile until after my exam. SO. DISTRACTING.

Aw. :( I want to see them too, 'cause I missed half the Much Ado About Nothing one and half the Midsummer Night's Dream and never saw any of the others. What I saw was fantastic and so worth watching. Maybe beg ask for them to upload it to YSI or somewhere?

Mmmmmmmm, I haven't heard anything about Secret Smile...but Tennat, so it must be good ;)

Dude, Taming of the Shrew has Rufus Sewell <3 If they're still up when I get home, I'll download and then upload them for you ^__^ If not, I'm pretty sure they'll be out on DVD at some point.

All I've heard is that he's the bad guy and very creepy. I *want* creepy!Tennant. :D

Oh! I remember seeing an advert for that. Have to see now. Yay! *sends you cookies* I need to start saving money to spend on DVDs, though I just read over on time_and_chips that the House boxset was reduced to £20 in the HMV January sale and I missed it! *stamps feet*

creepy!Tennant would be awesome! Then again I've one of these people whose favourite character is often the villian. I got so many weird looks when I said Iago was my favourite character in Othello ^^

He could do creepy so very well. But the villains are the most interesting characters! They have more motivation and development whereas half the time the hero is doing things out of a dull sense of "doing the right thing". Lex Luthor, Darth Vadar, Agent Smith, they're the people everyone really wants to see. :)

Oh see now *that* I'm allowed to buy on the basis that one quarter of my course next year is all Shakespeare. Yay for schoolwork giving me good excuses! *adds it to her mental "to buy soon" list*

Hmm

Given that people do keep going splat out of the Leicester Uni windows and that Lancs Uni has the highest suicide rate amongst students there could be reasons.
