clo_againThe man's a fucking magpie. He sees a pretty face and oh, he's off without a thought for poor old Rose who doesn't get any good lines, gets left behind to die -- and don't give me that crap about the Doctor going to save lives wherever he can because he effectively killed *two* people by leaving Rose and Mickey behind on that ship, not to mention all the people he would never save in future by trapping himself in eighteenth century France -- and yet Billie Piper still manages some of the most beautifully understated acting in the whole damn episode. The look on her face as she stared at the sealed-up time window, knowing the Doctor had left her without a thought was heartbreaking and HELLO, SCRIPTWRITERS! It would've been nice to have a scene in there before the Doctor left you know? An *apology*, even if it was barely a look, a whisper? This is the girl who almost ripped apart the universe not so long ago because she couldn't let him die, the girl he almost confessed he loved last week? Cutting out even the briefest of moments between them for the shock value was a cheap, cheap trick and I don't give a crap if you don't like Rose, half the time *I* don't like Rose but if I wrote a fic with such a lack of regard for arcs of character development as this episode? I'd be mocked. And laughed at. Possiby *killed*.
Not even some of the shiniest lines yet this season could save this episode from being disappointing. You can have the coolest villains, the coolest lines and the coolest acting in the world and it still doesn't give you licence to take utter glee in ripping apart a character simply because you don't like them.
I'm watching you Mr Moffet, very, very closely. Because I don't *like* scriptwriters who exploit any chance to shortchange a character on the basis of a dislike.

I thought Tennant would at least date someone who could act. But he was so awesome. Being drunk! *loves* Billie Piper broke me with her tear and angst. I've never wanted to hug her so much. :(
