Oh now I'm just pissed off.
May. 5th, 2006 03:14 pmBought a TV coaxial flylead from town because I've finally broken and am going to set my computer up to get TV. I explained to the guy that I wanted it for computer-TV point and he said I'd need a little convert-y thing if my computer had no aerial point thing, which it doesn't because I looked. So I blithely bought a cable and the convert-y thing and came home expecting it all to work fine. Only I forgot to check the TV point before I bought the cable and of course, it's the wrong sodding cable. Which means it's the wrong convert-y thing too GODDAMIT. Arrrrrrrrrggggggghhhh.
So my next stop is the wirey-computer-gadget shop on campus to see if they can sell me the right thing. Because although it didn't cost much, I feel a little dumb going back to the Radioshack guy and explaining. *headdesk* I forgot to get something else from town anyway, so I guess if all else fails I can go back tomorrow. And feel like a right twat but eh. He looked so pleased to hear I'd actually checked my computer too, as if he hadn't expected me too because I was a girl or just dumb or something.
Sigh. I am such an idiot. And I've been having such a great day too. Not that it *matters* not having TV right now, today, anyway because Doctor Who isn't on till tomorrow and I already missed House and Grey's Anatomy this week but...
Why is there no mood for 'stupid'? *ponders*
edit: Got the right cable. Five sodding pound! They were £2.99 in Radioshack! But despite the money I wasted today, it's so *nice* to have TV again. I'm watching Ready Steady Cook and I *hate* Ready Steady Cook and it's still wonderful because it's TV!
As for license and such? Well the TV people have owed me over £64 for the last month and a half and have yet to pay me back, even though I've even paid them an extra month of money than I had the TV for. So quite frankly, right now, they can kiss my ass.
*dies* Just got a call that's making me very "heeYAY!" but also "ohshitahhh!" and now I need to go sort that out. Back later. ^_^

Isn't 10/Rose just awesome? Have you checked my memories for some good 10/Rose fics? *distracts you from work* I was horrified when they first announced Billie Piper for it but she is so, so good. I love it all. :D Yay for Doctor Who converts!

Date: 2006-05-05 09:56 pm (UTC)They do post the best links in flocked posts (like the one to the Casanova downloads) so it's worth joining. I didn't even realise until I joined and saw these posts that i hadn't seen before. Means the downloads run faster/stay up longer too which is nice.
>small>*pets* There is some very very good stuff there. Definitely no workage after exam, especially maths. I have to go cook my cheeseburger now but I may be online in a little while, inbetween running up and downstairs to do my washing so if you're still around I should be on. :) She really is, it's amazing. Good for her too, to go and re-invent herself.
