Apr. 4th, 2006 08:47 pmToday I took a great stride forward on the work front in that I *actually* picked up my literary theory book and put it on my desk. Unopened. Maybe tomorrow you know, I'll *actually* look up the page numbers for structuralism or perhaps not, since I'm going to Pizza Hut with the gang for lunch and maybe a random movie after.
The gang minus
squishy_monkey who is apparently not home for all of Easter. *sadness* Don't you love us anymore? I'll miss my holiday hug if you don't come home to see us. Plus, I wanted to bug you about LJ references to a certain person we haven't been introduced to yet. ;) Otherwise I might have to get Grate and Terrible Vengence by pushing you in Erddig river this summer instead of
hill2k. ;)
Found the digital camera earlier -- thought dad took it to work in Ireland for the week but apparently not -- so I tried to take photos of the new hair, with varying success. However mid-wobble with the camera in my hand, the woman yelled upstairs to tell me the squirrel was back and since I haven't got s good picture of him for months, I went. I think the battle of Man VS Squirrel has officially been lost now. Last week Nemesis sat happily in the middle of the lawn eating the bird seed, even when the man opened the door and yelled at him. The man denies losing, of course, but the evidence speaks for itself.

Stupid reflection of the light on the window. Sigh.

Hungry. Should go in search of food really. Have craving for pie but I don't think we have any. Woeness.
edit: And for those of you bored and in search of a pointless -- but fun -- waste of time, Perpetual Bubblewrap.

Date: 2006-04-04 08:29 pm (UTC)I have a huge roll of bubblewrap *__* Unfortunately, it must be used for packing :(
*pokes online so I can talk before I go*

Date: 2006-04-04 10:14 pm (UTC)Bubblewraaaaaaaap. But just think of the fun you can have the other end when everything is unpacked and you have all that bubblewrap to play with? :) Good stress relief during unpacking. *ponders if that's why bubblewrap was invented*
*is online and is all on her own*

Date: 2006-04-04 09:24 pm (UTC)You are lovely. So's the hair. And I want to steal the shirt!
Today I took a great stride forward on the work front in that I *actually* picked up my literary theory book and put it on my desk. Unopened.
*cracks up* Sounds like me. I set the book next to the keyboard to do my homework... It's not doing itself unfortunately.
Ooooh, pointless fun wastes of time! *goes to pop bubble wrap*
BTW, randomness -- are you going to be home for a while? as in for like the next couple of weeks?

Date: 2006-04-04 10:20 pm (UTC)*blushes more* Thank you. And the shirt really needs the transfer redoing because it's coming off. *pokes it* Didn't iron it on properly when I first did it.
Mine;s not getting done either. It's enough that the book is *there*, looking at me. :) I'll get round to it... sometime. ;) Work should be put off til the last minute; there're much more fun things to be doing. Like popping virtual bubblewrap! ^_^ *goes to pop it some more too*
Yeah, I'm home for another two weeks. :)

Date: 2006-04-04 10:22 pm (UTC)*pets you* So cute! So, iron it again? Maybe? *ponders* I don't know if that would work...
Mine's done, but only because it's due in like two hours. *grin* I figured if I just got it done, it wouldn't have to be done at the last minute. Of course, it's half assed, but it's done and that's the important thing.
Cool.
How's your challenge going?

Date: 2006-04-04 10:39 pm (UTC):) I've re-ironed ones that have just been done and it's worked but ot sure it'd work on this one, 'cause it's been washed so often. *ponders* I have more transfer paper though and the picture saved so I can just reprint it and iron a new one on. :)
Okay, mine's not due for another... five weeks? Ish. ;) But it should be done sometime in the next two I hope. It is fun doing stuff before the last minute, 'cause that smug feeling after it's done is awesome. ^_^ That's what I figure about most things, as long as it's done and handed in on time then that's what matters. :)
:)
Mmmm. Well I know *what* I need to write. Starting to write it, well, that part is... being worked on. ;)

Date: 2006-04-04 10:43 pm (UTC)Ah, I see. Cool, at least you know it'll work. :-D
Lucky you. And yeah, if it's done and handed in, I don't really care overly much. Especially since I'm so close to graduating. :-)
*giggles* Yeah. I've started mine, but I just keep getting stuck. Damn you for making me write James Blake anyhow! :-P

Date: 2006-04-04 11:22 pm (UTC):D Yep, better than the first time when I wasn't sure. They do stick pretty well when you get it right. Might redo it tomorrow. Hmm.
Well, it is four thousand words of literary theory. ^_^ It might take the whole five weeks, knowing me. I think by this point next year I'll be like that; just hand the damn things in and get them out the way so I can graduate already! ^_^ Do you know what you want to do when you graduate?
*giggles too* I pretty much know exactly what plotline I want to write, with a couple of scenes already worked out but it's just sitting down to write it all. o.O Ooops. Sorry. *can't quite remember what she said now* I never said you couldn't push him under a bus though did I? ;)

Date: 2006-04-04 11:29 pm (UTC)That's cool. I still want one of those shirts.
Ick! At least mine are just short little summary type things. At most two pages. Pffft. I don't know what I want to do next week.
*grin* I have a couple of pages written. I know what I want to do, I just don't know how to get there from where I am. I'm not gonna push him under a bus, but I am making him an asshole. :-P

Date: 2006-04-04 11:43 pm (UTC)I was going to make them for people last year but didn't want to send them until I got the transfers to stick on properly. *ponders* If I can get the redone ones to stick then I'll make you one with whatever you want on it :)
That's the thing with English, you don't have to do anything for months but when you do have to do something, it makes up for it. ^_^ *giggles* Ah well, think about it when you get there. Plus, saving up for a plane ticket to come visit me is always an option right? ^_^
I think I need to work out a few more kinks before I start, like which tournaments I want them to be playing, how long a time period I want it to cover, but the basic outline's there. Once I've got the nitpicky details worked out, hopefully I should be able to just write through it. :) Assholeise away! ^_^ I still think him and Mardy make a canonically realistic couple but it doesn't mean I have to like him all that much. ^_~
(I'm going to have to go get some sleep now. >_< It's weirdly harder to stay awake late at home than it is in Lancaster. Should be around as usual tomorrow. :) )

Date: 2006-04-04 11:55 pm (UTC)Yay! *nods* That would be very cool.
*giggles* Of course... but I'll have to have a job first. Like, a real job where I make more than minimum wage and work more than 20 hours a week.
Cool. I can't wait to see if we both make the deadline. *grin* I suppose they do make a realistic couple, but I just don't like James for some reason.
*tucks you in* Sleep well. Not that unusual. You know you're home so you want to settle into your nice comfy bed. :-)

Date: 2006-04-06 10:02 pm (UTC)Got to get it right first but I will. :) It's just corners that are hard to stick down. >_<
*pets* Well I think I'll be here for a while yet, so however long it takes. ^_^ Though America and Canada are on my list after Australia, so I might turn up there first. ;)
Me too. :) Although if I'm really struggling, uni finishes before Roland Garros even starts so I can have a fic blitz after everything is done and handed in. James is nowhere near as likable as Andy or Mardy or Tommy. And Mardy/Tommy is prettier. ;)
I love my bed at home. It's bigger than my uni bed and so, so nice. :)
