I went to bed on Andy losing the second set, so I was more than a little 'eep!' about checking the scores this morning. What happened in the second set Andy, you send your brain cell for a walkabout? Jeez. At least from the scores it seems that he didn't choke after it, which is progress and hey, even Roger goes walkabout during matches sometimes. Brick by brick as said Tobey Maguire, brick by brick.
I'm meant to be doing washing now but I need to go back into town because I forgot stuff yesterday when I was there. *facepalm* I did manage to watch the figure skating last night but Plushenko did nothing for me at all. With Lambiel I was hiding behind a pillow in mute horror at every wobble and Johnny Weir was so *good*, why the hell did he end up in fifth, but Plushenko was... "clinical" the commentators called him and it came across. At least Roger lets out a yell or a smile or *something* occasionally but Plushenko seemed kind've uninspired. Why should they bother even trying to make a show of it if all they have to do is hit each technical element right and that's it, gold medal? Makes me wonder if people come into tennis and ask "Why do they all go on about Roger Federer? He doesn't seem anything special."
Can't believe I need to go back to town. >_< Why do I live on campus again?
edit: Also Lambiel killed me with the little 'bunny ears' thing he does for the camera at the end. And Swiss! *loves* I was just upset by the fact he and Roger go to different Olympics, so they couldn't have hung out together in Athens, looking cute. Woe. They should hang out and be smug to each other about their awesomeness. And Lambiel should teach Roger to do the bunny ears after matches, because it might just kill me dead with cuteness-squee. :)

Date: 2006-02-19 09:16 pm (UTC)According to an article posted on MTF, "Federer left a message to congratulate his countryman on the victory, and Lambiel, a longtime Federer fanatic, was thrilled. 'He left me a message on my compact [cell phone] and it was very nice,' the skater says. Lambiel had met Federer once, in the Swiss House at the 2004 Athens Summer Olympics, where Federer was playing and Lambiel was a spectator."
