Trying to remake an icon you made ages ago? Much with the frustration. I'm close, oh so close, but just not quite. Argh. May have to think of a different way to do the tutorial for scoobydumblonde, because doing it for this icon would turn out horribly complicated with the sheer amount of layers.

Today has been an absolutely beautiful day weather-wise and I've missed it because I've been inside. Alas. It has put me in a summery mood though; I have a sudden urge to go to Cornwall and wander round in shorts and eat ice-cream. Instead I'm going to Edinburgh to wander round in about twenty layers and drink hot chocolate. :) Summer will have to wait.

Going to see Memoirs of a Geisha later -- YAY for Morecambe cinema which isn't as appalling as Lancaster's! -- and I really should be reading now to make up for the lack of it I'll do later. Really I should. Eh. I still want to see Brokeback Mountain -- which BBC news has twice referred to as "the gay cowboy film" now, completely cracking me up both times -- but I have a feeling I'll end up waiting until it comes to the uni cinema. Unless we could go see it in Edinburgh on Friday night... hm. Something to keep in mind.

Temptation to play on Windows Movie Maker is growing. I haven't let myself look at how much better movie-making software would cost yet though it's oh-so-tempting. Not spending money. Nope.

I am really very happy today. :) No idea why, especially with how much dull "this is my life" rambling there's been in my LJ lately but... I just am.

edit: I want cookies. Suddenly, urgent desire for cookies. Damn my lack of them.

I've given up on ever figuring out photoshop. It's too difficult for me. :-( *snuggles* Thank you though.

Don't give up! If you keep at it, you can end up doing some really cool stuff. :) Plus there's so much stuff to know, no one ever knows it all; kindoftrouble pointed out the layer masks to me the other day that I'd never used before. Maybe I could do some mini-tutorials, on things like fading things out around the edges, putting borders around things, stuff like that? It really is worth the persistance. :)

It's so hard when I only can do it while I'm at school though. And it seems like every time I get it just how I want it to look, when I save it, it looks completely different. I'm just fed up.
