All I want for Christmas is for Roger Federer to go on Top Gear.

edit: I also just texted in for Murray to win BBC Sports Personality of the Year but I think it was a waste of 35p, because I don't see how anyone can beat Ellen McArthur.

I am wondering if Roger's there, because he won the Overseas Personality of the year in 2004 but I haven't spotted him and I doubt they'd give it to the same person two years running. Especially when 2005 was - if this can be said - an anticlimax after 2004 for him.

And now I'm going to shut up about him and squee over Top Gear a little more. It was *awesome* this week.

Oh my god, what is Paula Radcliffe wearing? o_O

edit: Well Roger was nominated but he didn't win. I am a little dismayed he was beaten by a *cricketer* -- sorry Impy but I'm with Jeremy Clarkson on this; cricket is mindbogglingly dull ;) -- but hey, he has a nice accent so it's okay. :)

edit: OH MY GOD WHAT IS KELLY HOLMES WEARING?! O_O

edit: OH MY GOD ELLEN MCARTHUR CAME SECOND?

edit: Awwwwww. She said "Andrew" and I went "!!!!!!!!!!!!" and then she said "Flintoff" and I was *sulk*.

Poor Murray. Just wait until he wins Wimbledon. A golden trophy is better than a jar of smelly ashes any day. ;-)

I thought exactly the same thing because Jeremy was in Switzerland! And there were cows! And I thought of Roger and his car love.

And he kept calling it 'car-hating Switzerland', I almost *died* thinking of Roger's reaction to that. ^__^ I'd just love to see Roger do a lap of the track and see Clarkson's reaction to what kind of cars he owns. It may be the ultimate squee after an Andy/Roger Wimbledon final.

Switzerland and its cows kills me completely, just for the sheer quaintness of it all. I love how much they love their cows.

I know and then I died laughing because Roger has so many damn cars. He would be offended, I think. I would love to see Roger doing the lap, it would be hilarious. Clarkson would probably mock them all, because that's what he does but it's fun :D It could be the ultimate squee after that final (and there will be lots more finals... hopefully), because Roger on Top Gear and the cuteness!

Me too. It's so totally quaint and the cows are cute too.

Exactly; Roger's not exactly a typical Swiss in that. I'm not sure how many cars Roger *got* actually but I keep hearing that he's got at least a few and he keeps winning more, so he must have quite a collection. ^_^ I think he would be a little offended too, though it'd be funny to see how he'd fight back against Clarkson. Roger doing the lap would be indeed be hilarious; I'd give a *lot* to see him do it. *giggles* Majorly squee worthy (and there'd better be; they're the highlight of the tennis season for me ^_^) and I think we should write to Top Gear and suggest it. *Unbelievable* cuteness. And then we could only hope Andy would ask to go on it to, to see if he could beat Roger's lap time. ;-)

Mmm, Switzerland. I think we should all go one day, make it a tennis slasher trip. :D We could all giggle at the cute cows and do research for fic while we were there.

Cars are shiny and Roger obviously likes the shiny. It's why he wins so much ;) I'm sure I heard somewhere that he has about 10 cars which would just be *insane* because no one needs that many cars. Still, they're probably all super pretty and I guess a lot of them would be prizes, like his one at the US Open :D Me too, because it would be totally fantastic (yeah, me too, I love watching them play each other. I got up at 6am to watch them in Cincy this year) and we should totally write. Hmm. The list of things we should write to people out is getting long ;) So cute. Hee, I'm sure Andy would love to beat Roger at *anything* which would also be great :D I see Andy holding his own against Clarkson well.

It's so pretty there. That would be totally awesome and we could stalk Roger and look at the cows. The many, many cows.

Roger is a whore for the shiny. ;) He can't stand to see anyone else get it. Wow, *ten*? I was working around the idea of six or so. Even a person who was at home all year wouldn't need that many; he probably has to drive a different one every day he's home to use them all. (Hey, that's why he took that time off after Wimbledon; he was in car withdrawal. ^_~) I would love to admire his cars; Top Gear has given me a whole new appreciation for super pretty cars. :) I suppose it'd just be finding time between tournaments but Roger loves cars from all accounts, I bet he'd love a day spent racing around a track with the Stig. (I'm like that, anything to watch an Andy/Roger final. Though I think I actually couldn't *watch* some of the Wimbledon final this year, I got so tense over it.) We do have a long list of letters to write by now... most of them to the BBC I think. ^_^ Maybe they'll get so sick of us, they'll give in. ;) Seeing Andy try to beat Roger at something other than tennis would be *awesome*, especially yeah, if we got to see Andy snarking right back at Clarkson. ;)

I've only been to Austria, which was frustratingly close but oh-so-far from Switzerland. *sighs* Switzerland looks *gorgeous*, I love mountains. :) It really would be awesome to go there with fellow tennis slashers who would totally want to stalk Roger also and admire the pretty cows. :) Add it to the list of things we have to do!

Ha. I bet Andy wants to be shiny too cos he can't stand anything having anything else better than him in Roger's affection.

And poor, normal and sane Mardy has to spend 10 minutes convincing Andy that "No, he loves you more than the Ferrari, and no, he isn't humping the Jag right now."

;)

*cracks up*

"...and no, he isn't humping the Jag right now."

NOT AN IMAGE I NEED IN MY HEAD WHILE TRYING TO DO A TEST ON VICTORIAN POETRY. Oh god, Roger humping a Jag. Emily Bronte has *nothing* on that mental image. Oh god.

If I start laughing in the middle of the silent lecture hall now, it'll *so* be your fault. ;-)

I have an odd mental image now of Andy covered in glitter because Roger likes the shiny. (Somehow I have to work that into a fic, but I don't know how.) No one needs 10 cars, especially someone who isn't even at home most of the year! Maybe if he was on Top Gear they could show all his cars because, *shiny*. Well, he could do it before Wimbledon next year and Andy could do it after Wimbledon. Perfect. (Totally. They really do have the best finals although generally I threaten to hit Andy with things.) One day we will have to write all these letters and many of them will be to the BBC. They will see they should get their act together ;)

I'd love to go to Austria, that also looks pretty. I haven't actually stayed there, just driven through it on the way to and back from Italy (sound familiar?) but it was gorgeous and there was snow and I would love to actually *go* there for a holiday. It would be the most awesome holiday ever with the tennis slashers and not just because of stalking Roger. We could visit Juliette. *adds* You know, maybe I should start writing some of this down. It would be the best list of things to do ever.

YAY for liking it! :D I wasn't sure if they showed it over there or not, but I'm glad they do. :) If you can watch it do; it's always hilarious. *giggles* I wish they'd release entire series on DVD.

Looking at the four nominees for overseas sports personality? As Much as I like Roger.....Warney is about twice as interesting as the other three put together even if all he does is annoy me. I mean ferny? Personality? As if.

It's not just any cricketer, it's Flintoff. (Is Lancastrian) And also how can you not love Shane Warne, unless, you know, you're batting against him.
