Dec. 3rd, 2005 02:18 amI got tagged to do this by
australian_imp but was mid-essay, so I forgot till now. So, before I go to bed:
Name 5 of life's simple pleasures that you like most, then pick 5 people to do the same. Try to be original and creative and not to use things that someone else has already used. Tag 5 people on your list.
1. I like making a cup of strong tea, pouring a tiny bit of milk in and then watching the cloud of milk gradually spread through the tea, sort of like the way smoke curls around in the air. No idea why, except that it's pretty, and it drives my mother nuts to see me intently staring at my cup of tea instead of stirring it.
2. Getting to watch a TV show I *really* want to see all the way through, on my own, without being interrupted. It's so hard to do when you live with so many people and have various places to be, usually it seems when there's something on I want to watch. Lock myself in my room, with a cup of coffee or a JD and coke, and simply *concentrate* on watching TV. Bliss.
3. When beta-ing a fic for someone, reading it in the morning then spending all day mulling it over until it finally hits me *exactly* what point I want to make. I love nothing better than fic that sticks in my head and makes me think, distracts me in lectures, that has me mumbling to myself when I do lengths of the pool. Especially fic I get to think really hard about for reason, to help out with it.
4. Clean sheets on my bed. Other people've probably had this already but I had to put it on here, because I *never* get tired of it. I'd wash my sheets every other day if I could afford the money for the laundrette. Snuggling down into clean sheets is *bliss*.
5. Looking back on a day and thinking "Yeah, I actually accomplished something", even if that something was as little as doing all my washing or getting an essay in on time or doing something I've been putting off for weeks. Especially finishing fic; now that's a feeling I love enough that I should work harder on getting it more often. Hopefully I'll have an accomplished day tomorrow.
I'm a surprisingly boring person. Hhhmm. :)
Bed now. Make a list of things I Absolutely Must Do Today in the morning, because I *will* be useful tomorrow.
Night!
edit: Oh um, tagging. I won't because I don't know who's done it really, and it's easier to leave it open. :) Do if you want to, or not.
