Oct. 24th, 2005 05:25 pmBasic summary of the lecture I just slept sat through;
Lecturer: "No one else in the country does Chartist poetry. You're probably the only second year English students doing it. Some people say it's been largely ignored because it's bad but they're WRONG! It's GREAT! REALLY!! Here are some reasons why! Because... because... um... Because it's very simple. Yes. Not *simplistic*, SIMPLE. Yay!"
Entire lecture theatre of students "..."
Being proven right would feel a lot nicer if I didn't have to take a class test on this stuff in seven weeks time. Knowing something is crap makes it harder to learn anything about it because really, I have a *lot* to do this year. Learning crap is not high on my list.
Um. One of those things I should be doing is writing my CW piece-that-should-have-been-submitted-half-an-hour-ago-and-has-not-been-started. Yes. Doing that now.
After Neighbours of course. :)
Clo
edit: Forgot this; inbetween lectures I picked up a paper to see if I could find a copy of the Rafa/Ljubicic photo but all I got was a single article with a black and white photo, sandwiched between all the football news. *sighs* But that's not the point. It had the now-familiar quotes from Rafa about Roger but it also had a little extra:
"[Roger and I] have a good relationship. Federer is not only No 1 and a great person. He's nice. That's the most important thing."
Nadal spoilt Federer's hopes of completing his collection of four Grand Slam singles titles by edging him out of the French Open semi-finals in June, but the pair seemed to hit it off.
The Spanish teenager wanted to practise with Federer at Wimbledon, but was too shy to ask. He approached Vittorio Selimi, the ATP's head of player liaison to make the request on his behalf. Selimi told Nadal to go ahead and ask, but then explained the situation to Federer.
One day, when Nadal was in the player's lounge, Federer walked in and said to Selimi in a loud voice: "Do you know why this guy doesn't want to practise with me?" Nadal blushed.
The pair were unable to hit together in the event, because Nadal lost in the second round, but a bond was established."
This is in no way intended to encourage the plot bunny I already sent after
astonish. Nope. Not at all. Though part of me is crying because Roger doesn't do this with Andy.
Really should do creative writing stuff now.

Date: 2005-10-24 07:22 pm (UTC)Hey, at least Roger hasn't patted Rafa's ass on television yet. I still say that's proof of the Andy/Roger love. You can't convince me otherwise! Maybe they both share Rafa, he's just their boy-toy on the side. ;)
