So. Freaky quietness.

Just waved the 'rents off to Turkey until a week on Saturday. It's me and Casper - and various goldfish but they don't count since they aren't exactly the greatest conversationalists - for pretty much two weeks. Hhm. It's probably a bad sign that I'm already contemplating the next two weeks as a 'rat-friendly settling-in time'.

clo. No buying of extra pets due to lack of parental control. Dammit.
I've actually been watching Unforgiven, despite my utter lack of knowing who half the guys are now. Vaguely got the reasons for the Matt vs Edge match but any hope of catching up on various plotlines vanished when that Masters guy walked onscreen and I spent a revoltingly fascinated five minutes watching his man-boobs bounce as he talked. Really, not what I wanted to see at two thirty a.m.. Shawn Michael's bondage outfit made up for it, until I found out that they'd "fired" Jericho and worse, that he'd cut his hair. Woe for the pretty blondness.
I get good coverage of the Davis Cup tennis next weekend, due to it being Britain playing. I'm thinking this means I get to see Roger and Murray playing, which makes me squeeful. We'll lose of course; this is Roger playing against us, but it does mean I get a weekend of tennis when I thought I'd have none before I had to go back to Lancaster. Yay!
Fic... no fic, alas. Started but was distracted by various 'rental packing antics. Have my BPC fic to write today, so we'll see. Bed now, so I can be vaguely awake for retail therapy and fic later today. Still feels weird to have the house to myself.

Date: 2005-09-19 04:08 am (UTC)...actually, I think the danish feud would have been more entertaining.
And the Matt/Edge thing? You didn't know about that whole mess? The internet (or, at least the wrestling parts) pretty much BLEW UP when that whole mess first happened. It's still blowing up and has me wanting to slap fanboys and fangirls on BOTH sides of the argument.

Date: 2005-09-19 05:39 pm (UTC)It's bad that I believed that danish story completely for a minute right? :) I think it would've been more entertaining than no reason at all. Hell, I still think Jericho pissing into Regal's tea is one of the funniest moments from when I watched wrestling, so a danish-feud would've definitely been entertaining. :)
I heard about it briefly - but wasn't it an RL thing, Lita cheating on Matt? I thought they wouldn't have the guys beating on each other inside a cage if they had a real reason to be pissed at each other, not that the WWE ever missed a chance to capitalise on a story. I can imagine how everything went kaboom about it. Slap the fanpeople if they're stupid. It does them good. ;)

Date: 2005-09-19 06:21 pm (UTC)Which I find revolting, as he had already been fired and he was egging it on via his website. Also, that none of these people ever chanted "You screwed Joanie!" or "You screwed Chyna!" at either HHH or Stephanie. I'm convinced most of the people chanting "You screwed Matt" were girls who wanted to and had no chance.
But that's just me.

Date: 2005-09-19 12:07 pm (UTC)Davis Cup tennis coverage! You're so lucky; I don't cable here and will subsequenly have to force my parents to tape it.
I thought of you the other day; the Tennis channel did this interview thing with Roger at some charity-type event, and they asked him silly, silly questions, INCLUDING:
"Roger, what turns you on?"
Although Roger wimped out and said, "Mirka." I wanted to hear him say something funny.

Date: 2005-09-19 05:54 pm (UTC)My country -- the country that denies the existence of tennis most of the time because it's not football and therefore cannot be important -- suddenly becomes terribly patriotic the moment it's Britain involved, so we're getting coverage of
our humiliating defeatthe whole thing on normal TV. Sky's showing some too but I'm not sure if that'll be the same matches or not. I'll post caps for you, so at least you'll get to see the pretty. :( *hugs**dies* They ASKED him that? I would've *loved* to see his expression when they did. ^__^ I wish he'd said something funny too. Like cheese, or fluffy pillows or watching Andy play. *coughs* Cute that he said Mirka though. *pets him*
A rat for all seasons. I'd call it Tony Soprano
Date: 2005-09-19 12:18 pm (UTC)Which actually has a great literature reference. Do you know what i'm on about with that?
Buy the rat! Buy the Rat! BUY THE RAT!!!! Or else i'm going to come round to your house and start making loud barking noises while you try to sleep. We should do a trip to Pets at Home or something in the week!!
Re: A rat for all seasons. I'd call it Tony Soprano
Date: 2005-09-19 05:58 pm (UTC)CatRat. :) Don't know what you're on about with mrs Brisby though... probably because I'm a bad English student. ^__^I *can't*. My 'rents would go nuts or kick me out. Mainly go nuts. If you make barking noises, I might throw a bucket of water over you. ;-) You're evil, encouraging me.
Re: A rat for all seasons. I'd call it Tony Soprano
Date: 2005-09-20 10:21 am (UTC)Grizabella is a cool name but how about something like "Death of Rats" or "Ratman!" or "Stop staring at me"

Date: 2005-09-19 02:04 pm (UTC)The worst part of that, of course, is that my wrestling fanfic muses are getting quieter and quieter. I haven't written anything in months, at least. It's sad to see them go.
Of course, with my tennis muses multiplying like bunnies (or RATS!), maybe that's a good thing.
I LOVE that Roger icon. Too funny.

Date: 2005-09-19 06:13 pm (UTC)Mine, what few I had, are long gone. I was mainly into the fanfic for the Jericho/Steph and after the opportunities for that fizzled out, even the slash couldn't keep me.
My tennis muses are the loudest, most persistent muses I've ever had. How they multiple so quickly when they're nearly all guys is something I haven't thought about too hard in case it leads to the fandom's first MPreg. ;-) And don't taunt me with the rats! I'm already so tempted, argh.
I saw that picture and knew it was meant for that quote. *grins*

Date: 2005-09-19 02:46 pm (UTC)I haven't been following wrestling too closely lately. I really have no idea where the Masters/HBK thing came from or why they're pushing Masters at all (maybe it's the man boobs). And I miss Jericho.
I think I get some Davis Cup coverage. It's probably on at weird times so I'll have to tape it. I can't have this post-US Open withdrawal.

Date: 2005-09-19 06:25 pm (UTC)I stopped watching wrestling... wow, over a year ago now, after I started to lose track of who all the random new people were. The Man Boobs must be the reason they're pushing Masters, because I couldn't see any other reasons. I remember when HBK merited top level matches and feuds that meant something. Poor guy, getting stuck with the Man Boobs. And Jericho was the one thing that might've made me go back. I miss him too. :(
The best thing about this Davis Cup for me is that it's in Switzerland, so there's only an hour's difference. For once I'm not watching matches at four in the morning. :) I desperately need more tennis before I go back to uni and get no tennis at all 'till January..
