I can't stop singing that every time I read the names on the scoreboard in the Murray vs Clement match. Clement's terrible taste in bandanas - one had flowers on it, little pink ones that would've looked sweet on say, Maria Sharapova - has also led to much gleeful abuse of the word "Ponce!", for which I have no shame. *Flowers*. *Pink* ones. Heh.
Today, I have been useless. This is irritating, so I'm going to see what I can do while waiting for and watching Roger's match. I have to get up early tomorrow but I'm not missing my first chance to see Roger playing in this tournament. I may as well be useful if I'm going to be awake.
My f-list has been interesting today, varying from woe to New Orleans - which I don't really know what to say about, because I'd barely even *thought* about it as a city before the last few weeks when it came up in one of my current favourite slash fics, and then this, and now I'm sort of reduced to watching in in mute horror. But it's been wonderful to see all the different ways in which people are trying to help, a tiny spark of optimism in the face of everything - to being squeeful and fic and I feel a little guilty for being lazy today. I'm wondering what I should do in the next few hours to make up for it. *ponders*
... I've done nothing else of note today, except finish Long Way Round. I want to go to Mongolia. Endless, empty landscape, lots of horses and the absolute minimum of distractions. Bliss.
Find something to do now. Yes. Hhmmm.

edit: Every time Murray hits an awesome shot, I'm not looking. *rolls eyes* Good thing they have replays for us distractable-by-the-shiny people.
edit: YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!! Two sets all! Murray, I love you for just not *quitting*!
edit: Christ on a cracker Murray! My Sky box crashes for literally *five* minutes, I get it working again and you're three games down? Don't you dare lose after I just shrieked about you winning back two sets. To a man wearing a bandana that made dad remark 'He must be married, because he's torn the bottom off his wife's skirt.' Don't you *dare*.
edit: Murray, you complete and utter wanker.

Date: 2005-09-03 04:53 am (UTC)Sorry, though I like Andy Murray, I was rooting for Arnaud. Andy is young, and he'll have plenty of chances, but Arnaud's clock is ticking.
Are we still friends?
