I'll move downstairs once the 'rents have gone to bed. Because no matter how bad the 'net signal is in my room, writing smut in the same room as your parents is enough to weird anyone out. It was bad enough trying to write it in the middle of town while being watched by about a hundred small children.
Today, I was forcibly dragged - okay maybe not, I promised to go in the week without really listening and was made to keep it - round some insanely huge gardens of the Duke of Something-Or-Other. I really stopped listening after I realised how much I hated him for having absolutely beautiful stables and using them for *cars*. There were some awesome statues and sculptures though, which made it worth the insane jealousy of seeing how rich people live.

The horse in the centre of the stable courtyard. Where he now keeps *cars*. I was so very bitter about that.

Hermes. I proved to the 'rent that taking Classics in college was actually useful, since I could identify the Greek mythology statues. Not that Hermes is ever hard to identify, with the winged sandals and such.

Though it took me a few minutes to recognise Hercules. I couldn't remember the name of the deer he's wrestling, but Google informs me it's the Hind of Ceryneia.

Not quite so ancient, apparently this was a modern sculpture by an Irish artist. Isn't it *gorgeous*? Now *that* is art.

And finally, some bizarre water dragon fountain with the family's own private church - yes, an entire *church*. Did I mention these people are *very* rich? - and part of the house in the background.
So yeah. The gardens of one of the richest, if not the richest, man in Britain.
Not that I'm jealous or anything. Really. Not at all. Ahem.
Other than that, my day has been pretty dull. Still working on Halo and will be for at least a few hours yet, though I'm literally within a few lines of finishing the smut and moving onto the final scene. *throws confetti* Hoping to get the last, finished snippet up tonight and then edit it over the next couple of days, having the finished thing up on
clofic about Tuesday.
But to do that, I've got to finish it which is what I'm off to do. I'm sure there was something else I was meant to say... Oh yes:
US OPEN STARTS TOMORROW!!! :D YAY!

edit: Oh and 19,900. That's a good number. Not thinking about editing, not thinking about editing...

Date: 2005-08-29 12:53 am (UTC)Aw. :( Don't think I'll be able to get it edited and done in time before you leave. At least it'll definitely be up when you get back; even I can't find more reasons for it to take me any longer now. :)

Date: 2005-08-29 11:46 am (UTC)Don't worry, I am expecting to come back from the trip with lots and lots of fic to read. Besides, I think I've waited long enough. A few more days won't do much harm. So I'll have a reason to come back home actually - as long as I don't slip and fall to the falls that is.
