If I see one more tennis fanfic involving a fan meeting a player and having mad passionate sex with said player, I WILL SPORK MY OWN EYES OUT.

Maybe the Capslock of d00m was unnecessary. I however, think not. Because, *ow*. It *is* possible to write tennis fanfic that isn't slash but isn't a Mary-Sue either. Just *damn*. The non-slash part of this fandom is awful.

Apart from being traumatised by that, I'm doing everything I can to avoid calling The Dragon (as named by wolves8) to ask if I can have my £110 back, please, even though my college is dumb and didn't think that maybe I wouldn't be *there* to get the form when they pushed it under my door. Admittedly it is my fault for not sorting it out after the exams but... still. She's evil and I'm not in the mood to get yelled at. So, putting it off. Wondering if I can beg the 'rent to do it for me, now I'm speaking to him again. He does snarky demands much better than me.

And yes, I'm working on Halo. Ssssh.

EDIT: No idea why I'm offering this when I don't even have time to answer comments properly right now, but Halo is looking on course to be finished soon and I've been meaning to ask for a while - since I've come across a few people saying they can't use Photoshop, or maybe having some problems with it - does anyone want me to do a couple of simple tutorials just on things like cropping, borders, brushes, any effects people want to know how to do and so on? I'm not exactly the Photoshop expert, but the basics are easy to explain and once you start using Photoshop, you find all the nifty little features out yourself. :) It wouldn't even take me very long, so you wouldn't have to worry about me losing fic time. ;-)

Tennis Mary-Sues are... well, not just wrong, but... yech! *shudders* I'm all for having fantasies, but really, I don't want to read someone else's personal fantasy. Just... no.

Exactly. Not to mention they aren't even written *well*. One had all the dialogue bolded in the middle of unbolded-paragraphs. I ran away screaming in horror.

Am finishing! I am!! I'm working on a big, Photoshop-tutorial post in my spare time, so it'll be up sometime after I finish Halo. Probably in the next couple of days. :)

*grins* Overall, it's good for me - more people using Photoshop means more icons being posted on my f-list, maybe wallpapers and banners and such. If I give up time to do it now, it'll hopefully pay off in saving me time making icons and such later. ;-) Though also, I think Photoshop is fantastic and I want everyone else to appreciate it too. ^__^

Yeah, I've been doing a lot of Halo-torturing lately. :-/ Thankfully it's nearly over. :D

OMG Sooo true... when Impy first recruited me to this fandom I had a read of the non-slash stuff and almost gave up on it on the spot! Thankfully she showed me the slashy brilliance you gals write, and I stuck around :)

But the non-slash stuff is truly awful - I considered removing my own retinas so that I would never have to look at that again... :D

And I would LOOOOVE a photoshop tute! At the moment I just play with buttons and see what they do. I can crop and add simple text but I have no idea about the layers and colours and filters and all that stuff.... So if you have time it'd be wonderful~! *hugs you tightly*

I'm so glad I didn't find the non-slashy side before I found gamesetmatch. It might have scared me off for good, thinking there were only Mary-Sues in the fandom. Our slashy side is much better. More sane. ^__^

There'll be a big Photoshop tutorial post after I finish Halo, so probably in the next couple of days. I'm goignt ot ry and do everything from the real basics up to some more complicated stuff, so I hope it'll help. :) *hugs back*

It really is. *sighs* I'm glad we're here to balance it out.

Photoshop tutorials won't really take much time from ficcing, since they involve far less concentration and I can do them when I'm too sleepy or distracted to fic. ^__^ Halo should hopefully be finished tonight, then I'll be working on Datta and I think the last part of Underneath might be liroa15's birthday fic, so that might take a week or so. :) *snuggles back*
