Well no. But then it shouldn't have just appeared either and it kind of did, without me having to find it in the menus and I'm deeply suspicious of HTML at the best of times. And now I have purple comment boxes and can't find the part to change it. -_- I'm not destined to be a master HTML-ist I think.
I'm scrabbling to make sense of other people's HTML tutorials right now and failing somewhat. *stills hasn't found out how to change the colours of the comment boxes*
The big box of colour numbers at http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_colors.asp might help if you're looking for colours if you use ignited's tutorial. And yes, dammit! Katie'll know about comment boxes! *waits for Katie*
*giggles* Hence my insanely purple journal. I love HTML colours. *pets them* And yes, she's way more likely to know what to do than I am to find out by just changing random colours and hoping my journal doesn't go orange.
I found this about as accidentally as possible, through a link on ladyjackyl's journal, and I've also wanted a layout with a banner at the top, so I thought I'd try it. Though I've come to the conclusion they should make these tutorials clearer, since my journal ended up about 80% guesswork.
*giggles* So do I (though ow, these purple comment boxes have to go. Somehow.) I'm just a little perplexed about how I actually managed to get it to work. It's all a bit of a mystery. *pets it and hopes it doesn't go away*
*giggles* Okay, just read through you and liroa15's comments. I have to say, when it comes to doing journal layouts, I'm lost. I take the originals that they have up and just play with 'em that way. I've never tried from scratch and I don't really want to. :-P *snuggles*
Also, dur. Meant to ask if you would let me see the html? & if you would create a banner for me?? Tommy & Mardy please blue and/or green if you say yes
*nods* Sure, will email you the HTML I tweaked. The original - along with the tutorial - is over at ignited's journal here : http://www.livejournal.com/users/ignited/213335.html and will probably make more sense than the lot I've run rampant all over. ;-)
Ooops, pay attention Clo. *headdesk* Sure I'll make you a banner, but can it wait till after the weekend? Mad ficcage and award banners seem to be everywhere at the moment. :)
Considering I'm dying to see Datta! sure, it can wait. *G* Besides, I know you have a ton of other stuff to do, so no hurries. :-) 'SIdes, I should be working on homework, not on changing my LJ layout. *giggles*
*giggles* Homework?! You don't need to do homework!! ;-) And to finish Datta, I need to finish Underneath whic is proving tricksome. Finally seem to have found the flow but how long it lasts is up for debate. *rolls eyes* Muses. But yeah, banner can be done early next week. Getting on well with award banners and I've still got a few weeks to finish them, so they're no urgent right now.
Yes, I do need to do homework. Unless I want to fail all of my classes. Which I do not want. I'd like to at least be second place to the valedictorian, since I already lost that slot. :-(
To be honest, I want it too at this point. Underneath is driving me insane. -_-
Okay, I guess maybe some homework is good. Failing is never fun. And second place is still pretty damn smart. *snuggles* I'll be lucky if I come in the top fifty on my course.
So, work on Datta. *pouts* I want to know that you're not going to split up my Tommy/Mardy/Marat.
Homework sucks, but it is a necessary evil. there's only like eight people in my class, but second is definitely something to brag about. I just want first place dammit! :-)
But... liroa15 is threatening me with the moose if I don't post Underneath soon. *ponders* I don't know; it's one of those 'If I leave it, will I be able to pick it up again?' things. No comment on the Tommy/Mardy/Marat front.
Yeah. *sighs* Though my homework mainly consists of reading novels for next year, so I can't really complain about reading Dickens. :) And wow. There was around 350 people on my course last year. There'll be less this year of course, as people drop it but I'm still expecting around 150+ at the least. And second is damn smart. *snuggles some more* And I've had various friends who've been up there at the top of the class - and I've concluded that sometimes, second is a more comfortable place to be.
*pouts* Fine. I'll wait. Even though I've been waiting longer for Datta than she has for Underneath. You know if you split them up, I will hurt you!
Let's try asking Andy that. Okay, that was kinda mean. *snuggles Andy* I'd rather be in first. To me it's more comfortable to set the lead than have to chase it. But don't forget, you're at an actual university. I'm just at what basically amounts to a trade college. :-D
*nods* It took me a while just to make my journal believe that the pages she's referring to exist at all. I've sent it to your gmail account, if that's okay? Not sure which one you're using right now. :)
*giggles too* It was probably actually easier for me to work with then, since I know nothing about HTML and wasn't looking for it to make sense. The madness of LJ.
