I don't give a f**k what analogues means, especially when you just tell me to look it up and don't give me a reason or a context to use it in. I do not like being patronised. I do not like your horribly confusing website. I'm mad at you and I know where y'all live.

Okay, that very last one was a lie, but I can find out.

Basically, I don't like you. At all. Kthnxbye.

I feel your pain. The Pitt English page rarely updated and normally failed to provide you with important dates, like when entries for prizes were actually due, and when the awards were being given out. Apparently you're just supposed to KNOW when these things are, from hanging our with your Oh So Cool and Informed kiss ass fellow students. I'm glad I hung out with most of the "lame" English students. We were cooler, anyway.

And now I don't have to deal with it anymore.

The amount of important stuff I would've missed this year if flatmates and other English students hadn't told me... I didn't know we had to sign up for our courses online until the last minute. I'd like to give our English department a good kick in the pants for assuming we're all psychic. -_-

Can't say we have such a division of supposedly cool and supposedly lame students. *ponders* Lame people are usually cooler. They have much more of an idea what the hell is going on. ^__^

*sighs* So damn lucky.

Well, the "cool" kids at Pitt were the ones who were fairly talented, but figured that kissing teacher's asses was more important than actual talent. I nearly throttled the leader of their clique at one point. My friend [livejournal.com profile] varius and I decided that we were the "lame" part of the English department, because rather than spending our time networking we were actually, ya know, writing. We didn't get invited to the "cool" parties (except for the New Years one, and that was only by association with someone else) and we weren't approached on the porch very often. So, we are the "lame" ones.
Oddly enough, we also don't really give two shits.

I wonder if it'll be more like that here next year, once we get less people on the course. Hhhmm. Be interesting to see. I'll take being lame over "cool" anyday, since the people who think they're cool are usually just, well... really lame. In a bad way.

Makes me appreciate the British education system more though, when you get to college and 'cool' and 'uncool' really cease to have any meaning. :)
