Token long post to make up for yesterday.
May. 19th, 2005 01:26 pmI want a caramel macchiato. Even reading the description on the Starbucks website is making me drool. Dammit for the nearest Starbucks being at least two hours away! (calculating getting ready time, catching the bus, catching the next bus and then walking there.) It probably says something about me that I'm tempted to go anyway. *sighs mournfully* Oh well. Going shopping Sunday I hope, so I'll try and get one then. If we can even get them over here. Ggrrr for living in a nation of tea lovers!
So yesterday tired me out, even though I only walked around town spending too much money. It was mainly the walking across town, buying heavy food, then walking back across town for the bus, with said heavy food. *sighs* After a week of being a bum, it was something of a shock. And I kinda wish I hadn't spent so much money in light of the surprising FedEx bill this morning, but eh. I bought a pack of the Magnetic Poetry fridge magnets, which you can write poems and little stories with on the fridge. *snickers* My 'rents are going to freak when they get home, but they should be grateful the Italian version was more expensive and I don't speak enough Italian yet to make it worthwhile. Just wait until the summer... *plots*
Also bought a Welsh fridge magnet to send to my dad's lovely Australian friends who we went out for lunch with the other day. Leaving aside said parental's complete lack of manners - he was late for playing golf and the fact he hadn't seen these people for two years and probably wouldn't see them again for years, he was twitchy all the way through lunch. -_- - they gave us an Australian fridge magnet (they had a bagful and were handing them out to old friends as they toured Europe) and have I mentioned that I love Australians? Only they tempted me to go out and visit K when she goes over in the summer; they said they've got a spare room and I'm more than welcome to stay as long as I like. *sighs mournfully* Stupid plane tickets costing so much. But anyway, they were going on to Chester then down south for a while and they sent me a letter, a few days after we'd been for lunch, saying how nice it was to see me again, that they hope they'll see me in Australia one day and they hope the 'rents get back safe from their respective trips. With £10 to go with it. It made me sniffle, it really did. I love Australians. *snuggles you all*
But since I seem to be pretty much recovered now, I'd better start catching up on everything I missed, especially since my 'net was being temperamental. *kicks it* It'd better work today.

Date: 2005-05-19 02:21 pm (UTC)I wish everyone would stop talking abt Starbucks - I have a killer sore throat and would love a hot beverage right now. Too bad the nearest Starbucks is in... *checks Starbucks Australia site*... Melbourne! Damn... I'm sure it's good but I don't think it's worth a week's road trip or 10 hours return by plane just for a drink... I'm sure when I am in NZ/US/Europe/SA they will have a slightly more convenient store...
*looks at site* ewww caramel apple cider sounds a bit icky... Caramel macchiato sounds yummy though, and so does mocha valencia *wants*

Date: 2005-05-19 04:42 pm (UTC)Argh, that's even worse than me. *kicks American monopoly of Starbucks* They need to share the coffee love dammit! And if you're anywhere near Wales, make sure to drop in and I'll take you to our nearest Starbucks and squee over the coolness of your accent. :-)
They shouldn't tempt us with the pretty descriptions. *sighs*

Date: 2005-05-21 01:51 pm (UTC)And you are more than welcome to enjoy/mock my accent, whatever it may be... As long as I get to make an ass of myself around the UK accents.
Ohhh the people on the TV are finally singing God Save the Queen. That means we may actually progress past talking about the FA Cup final and actually play the bloody game! It's only taken 80 mins to get to this point! *whinges* I'm off the topic... sorry!~
An answer for everything.
Date: 2005-05-19 09:30 pm (UTC)I got tired from just being excited about the elec test being moved and going home early (only 13 days from today!), mainly in light of me finally getting the Mk3 on the road. And at home there's fridge magnet poetry, only it was free from BT, and I made something up about feeding my mum hot cakes from the oven or something when I was drunk.
I want to go to Oz too, and mainly to see Neville, Les and co, my 3rd and 4th cousins and their family. I even know the exact little town they live in. Plus I hear car's are far cheaper in certain respects over there to here.

Date: 2005-05-20 02:34 pm (UTC)But Holywell is just as far away from me as Chester! *wails* We need on in Wrexham. And if you open a Starbucks, will I get free coffee? ;-)
*pets* Excitement is good. :-D
ROAD TRIP TO OZ!!! ^__^ Somehow.
Re: An answer for everything.
Date: 2005-05-20 11:01 pm (UTC)Learn to drive you. Then you can go to Chester whenever. And Hill might make you a coffee in his shop, but I'll need all the cash I can get, as I'll be funding his shop.
Road trip to Oz = 2 problems.
1)We'd need to build the road as we go.
2)I don't know if the Fesbot would be up to it.
Re: An answer for everything.
Date: 2005-05-21 01:45 pm (UTC)Mmmm road trips... fun :) Do come to Oz! might be easier to fly though :)
Re: An answer for everything.
Date: 2005-05-21 04:16 pm (UTC)Ah, we're students! We have to do everything by road trip. *grins and plots how to build a road all the way to Oz*

Date: 2005-05-21 04:10 pm (UTC)Seriously, you don't want me driving. People would not be safe. I am a menace to society behind the wheel. ^__^ If I drove there I'd have to find somewhere to park and... it's probably easier to catch the bus. :) But... I'll be an honoured guest! Free coffee! *pouts sadly* ;-)
You could mod your new car into a submarine. Then all we'd have to worry about would be leaks and bumping into whales. ;-) I so did not almost type that as Wales. Really, I didn't. ^_^
