I just was half way through a nice long entry on how this was the last day of the Christmas holidays, how the tigers were winding me up today at the zoo when I was trying to photograph them, and how my media class is going to be descending on Euro Disney in just three weeks tomorrow - then the page reloaded and I lsot the entire thing. *sighs* Dammit. Why can't this thing have an auto-save?!

Anyway, the other stuff I was planning on talking about (since it's too much effort to re-type everything, I'm pretty happy with the icons I have right now. A slashy one, a Blame the Muse one and a simple Lister one which could be used for most things. Nice balance. Although I'd kill for a paid account so I could upload more at once. *sighs*

On the plus side, I've finally started scribbling 'Lamp of the Valar', sequel to Weyr of the Lost. I got a really nice email earlier too, from a girl who'd read Weyr of the Lost and had then gone out to buy Anne McCaffrey's books and enjoyed them, all because she'd read my fic on the Dragons of Pern. It was nice to think something I'd written actually made a difference, however small. But it's also stuff liek that which makes me mad about Anne McCaffrey's stance on fanfiction; no where except her site and then no crossovers. Surely if it brings her extra fans it's free publicity right? Personally I've always loved crossovers; dumping people from one universe into another can only ever bring about interesting results. ^-^ And with crossovers it's possible to take the best elements from one show/book/movie and mix them with the best elements of another book/show/movie. Always a good thing. Anyway, I won't start my bans-on-fanfiction-drive-me-nuts rant again, I could make your brain turn to mush by the time I'd finished. ^-^

ONE DAY LEFT! -_- I love the holidays, but college can be interesting sometimes too. At least I'm looking forward to Media. And seeing how badly we all failed our Psychology test. And Classics we're starting Greek satire which should be entertaining. English... let's not go there. Still, I've got so much left to type, another week off would be much appreciated. I'll have to take paper and pen to France with me and scribble on the bus. Myth( part five of the GamesManShip Series) is planning exceedingly well; I've got a huge map of Britain with little pencil lines mapping out routes and scribbling notes in the sea round the edges. It's really fun. Actually I have the Prologue written so I should type it up really.. I may go do that before I go to bed for my last lie-in before college starts again. *sighs* Oh for the summer holidays when I could spend night and day ficcing then collapse and sleep for 12 solid hours. Bliss.

One more thing; I was curious last night about how many slash sites I could find around the net. In my innocence I assumed they would be far less numerous than het/general fic sites. But - all in the name of research you understand ^_~ - I discovered far more sites and lists and archives than I thought possible. We slashers could practically take over the world. The strangest thing was on every Mummy slash site I sound, the same two Mummy slash fics were there. Every single site. *shakes head* It was like "wow, somebody really likes these fics!" All this was in the name of research you understand.

*continues plotting world domination*
